A round-up of reviews for last week's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode. The Escapist said 'The Well' "offered a killer premise - The X-Files with Mission Impossible's hardware - and delivered the hell out of it". 411Mania.com gave the episode 8.4 out 10, TheHDRoom 8.5 and IGN 8.0. Digital Spy gave it 3 stars out of 5, GeekSmash 4 1/2 and SFX 3 1/2. The Paste reviewer said the episode didn't work for them whilst The Independent blogger said "it gives the series a sense of urgency it's been missing".

So So Gay said "finally, an episode which nails the action, plot development and humour that we've come to expect from a Whedon series". Digital Spy gave 'The Hub' 4 out of 5, TV Fanatic 4.5 out 5, SFX 3 out of 5, IGN 7.7 out of 10 and 411Mania 8.4. TV Overmind said it was a "good episode that is moving the characters forward, some more than others". And the ScreenCrush review concluded with "overall, continually strong improvement on the fronts that many were quick to tear into during the inaugural weeks".

Digital Spy gave it 4 stars out of 5, 411Mania gave it 8.5 out of 10, SFX 3 1/2 stars out of 5 and IGN 8 out of 10. Den of Geek said "while the start was slow and dull, the tension really ramped up in the second (better) half". So So Gay summarised it as "a tense, well crafted episode". And ScreenCrave declared that "for the first time since the show began, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. may have hit the mother load (sic) with 'Fzzt'."

SFX gave it 3 1/2 stars out of 5 and IGN 7.9 out of 10. So So Gay said the episode was "pacy, well written and full of twists and turns". Crave Online went with "a fun and dramatic episode". Den of Geek thought that SHIELD "is definitely getting better" and the TV Fanatic reviewer loved "the tone, tempo and pace of the episode".

A round-up of reviews for last week's Agents of SHIELD episode. Digital Spy loved it, calling '0-8-4' "a fun and glossy package". SFX Magazine gave the episode 3 1/2 stars out of 5, "it has pace and heart and humour". The Guardian is recapping the show and generally liking it. The Yahoo! review said it was "of similar ilk to an 'Indiana Jones' romp". Assignment X said it was a bit disappointing compared to the first episode. Vulture thought it was disappointing as well. IGN went with " there are elements of SHIELD that feel very much like an old school TV series, which is actually quite enjoyable". And the Huffington Post said "this second episode left me even more breathless than the first".

Agents of SHIELD sees bigger playback gains with its second episode. According to the press release, "the show surged 51% to 4.92 Adult 18-49 rating (vs. a 3.26 rating in L+SD), up from a 38% increase for its debut telecast. Additionally, the second episode of the show built 39% in L+3 to deliver 12.07 million Total Viewers (vs. 8.66 million viewers in L+SD), up from a 31% increase for its premiere."
