Mal lands in this week's Geek6.
Our captain makes it in as one of the top science fiction characters out there. He also makes it onto
Movie Retrieval's list of ten character origin stories they'd like to see on film.

I know there was talk and more talk, but I think the numbers got the best of the fans. There's a fan movie finishing shooting this summer.

A Browncoat started a website, collected a bunch of money and a person from the entertainment industry contacted said Browncoat and explained that Hollywood is afraid of fan-funded stuff and the effort might actually scare Hollywood away from Joss. Said Browncoat refunded all the money.
This was before the strike. This was all before Joss made Dr. Horrible with his own money. Joss has since said he is interested in announcing a product with an actor and setting the budget by pre-order. He also wrote about donations etc since the Guild was started with self-funding and donations.
Joss is boss. He knows how to reach us. We hold til Mal gets back.
