Interview with comic writer Brian K. Vaughan. He's a fan of the Whedonverse, and Joss is a fan of his work.

Vaughan gives props to the fact that Buffy and Angel supply cliffhangers on every commercial break, and says Firefly is the best thing Joss has done.

Feel the love.

I've just finished reading Y: The Last Man #1-22 (on TPB mostly), and it is awesome. The dialogue is very, very snappy. The lead character Yorick is Peter Parker meets Xander with a little bit of Tobey Maguire's character from Seabiscuit thrown in (what did I just say?).

It's very reminiscient of something Joss would do. It's an ensemble with great layered characters, but it's also a fertile sci-fi book.

This guy has become one of my faves is my point. I can see why Joss likes him.
Best Brian K. Vaughan writing? "Runaways", hands down. Read this article for some Joss connections…
Well I think we have now moved into an era where we see writers etc being influenced by what Mr Whedon has done (and acknowledging it too).

Y:The Last Man is amazing, I've heard its been optioned for a movie.
I'll agree with eveerything about about both Y and Runaways.....they are great books. I plan on giving out copies of the trades to friends for Christmas...that and a couple of Firefly sets.
Brian Vaughan is one of my favorite writers, and in my (admittedly somewhat limited) experience he's a genuinely friendly person at that. I've read almost all of his stuff from the last few years and I find myself recommending his work constantly these days. It's quite true that his style is influenced by Joss. Great guy. Check out Ex Machina #1.
I think Y: The Last Man would be better suited for a TV series than a 2-hour movie. It pretty much reads like a good TV show as it is, and yeah, I also get a lot of Buffy vibes from the comic.

I can't believe The Hood was a flop. I was hoping for a sequel someday.
Everything that I have read from Vaughan has been jaw-droppingly good.

Y: The Last Man is my current favorite book. Ex Machina is starting out to be really good.

I'm glad that there is a nice little sense of camaraderie amongst the comic community towards Joss now that he's joined it.

Could you just imagine if Angel was still on the air, and Joss got someone like Vaughan to write for it? How could would that be?
