Are Browncoats big fans of the Halo video games? Well Bungie folks seem to be big fans of Firefly and Serenity!!!

The goodly folks at Bungie (they bring you the video games Halo and Halo 2) list some of the Sci-fi that gives them some of their inspiration. At the top of the TV list is Firefly (Of course!!) Between the writing and the beautiful ladies of the 'verse, Firefly is brought up as a fave and inspiration by a rather large number of the guy and gal folks at Bungie.

Just thought this would be interesting for everyone to see. I certainly appreciate when one classy franchise tips their cap to another.

I wonder if they know that Nathan is addicted to their games?
And Alan Tudyk, too! In one of the Firefly commentaries (I think for the pilot ep), it's mentioned that Alan adjusted his performance in The Message to be more frantic while piloting through the canyons while being pursued by the crooked Alliance cop based on his experiences playing Halo. ;-)
You know the crews spacesuits always reminded me of the suit from halo...anyone else or just me?
Now that you mention it...
Wow, you guys here at Whedonesque are quick! (I was gonna come over and make this my first original newspost.)

I think the Bungie folks DO know that Nathan's a big Halo fan. Or, at least, it has been mentioned repeatedly at, the largest Bungie/Halo fansite, which has pretty significant ties to Bungie (though they aren't Bungie), closer ties than, say Whedonesque has to Joss, unfortunately... he should post more!
Halo's a lot of fun, but I'm not very good at it (I'm more the sniper type, so I'm better suited to slower-paced shooters. Battlefield 2's a personal fave). For my money, though, the best "get 'em together and have fun" party game is Super Smash Bros. Melee.
I've belatedly realized that I'm not very good at any vid games, after shelling out for the X-Box and Halo, the Buffys, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Far Cry Instincts, Fable, Grand Theft Auto, The Thing, etc. etc. Halo's a lot of fun though, and you have to love the production values. Good on the Bungie folk for their taste and style.
uh...where'd they get that picture of Our Gals? ::goes off to his bunk::
Well I'm a huge Halo fan and I love that Bungie loves Firefly (if there is a video game God let him let there be a Serenity game and let the creators of Halo be the ones to make it - with Joss too!).

And can't have a Halo thread without mentioning Julia Benz as the voice of Miranda Keys in Halo 2!

Damn SNT, I thought I was the only one. I shelled out on xbox, halo 2, xbox live and then found myself getting my butt kicked by 8-11 yr olds. Sigh.
In the latest issue of the UK Official XBO 360 magazine there's an interview with Nathan Fillion where he talks about Halo etc.
SoddingNancyTribe, The Dark Shape - I'm exactly the same. Really bad at Halo 2. Anything which involves planning or sneaking, though, I can handle. I'm "HarshFire" on Xbox Live, if anybody wants to add me. I'm kicking about the idea of buying Battlefield 2, as the demo on the 360 is great fun - it has TANKS. And places to snipe, importantly.
I'm conflicted. I hate Halo but love their sci-fi influences.
When I tried to recruit my brother to watch Firefly/Serenity I explained to him the obsession... erm... love that Nathan and Alan have for Halo. My brother is BIG into Halo and a guro so I used that to get him to into Firefly/Serenity.
