Bones helps FOX take first place on Wed night. Bones came in a 2nd for the 8pm hour but it was enough to help FOX stake a solid claim on first place for the last Wed night before May sweeps.

On another show note, it has not been made official yet, but the word is Christian Kane's show 'Close to Home' has been canceled and will not be returning next season.

For those keeping score:

Canceled shows with main verse character:
Kitchen Confidential
Reunion
Alias
Close to Home

Returning for another season:
Bones
How I Met Your Mother

Fate still in limbo:
Convictions
Veronica Mars
Smallville

I've seen people suggesting online Fox has been trying to bury Bones by moving it, but in reality they've served it well - they moved it, just like they did with House, and it's doing really well -- just like House.
Oh come on, Veronica Mars is undecided? Dammit.
Veronica Mars is being decided (officially) within the next few weeks, Andy. I THINK it's May 5th it's being announced, with actors knowing on May 4th. But I might have the dates mixed up.
Sorry to hear Christian Kane will be out of work, hopefully he'll find something soon. Maybe he could do a guest stint on Bones, he and David worked really good together.
RE: ALIAS--It was GREAT to see the Fred/Jasmine reunion last night, DG did a fine job with this one, as the end-game takes shape, and all the elements of the show's mythology begin to come together. Quite the ending, eh?
Conviction may technically still be in limbo but from everything I've read in recent articles it's only a matter of time before JAR is joining Christian on the out-of-work actor queue.

A shame because both of them deserve better.
Last night's Bones was a great and heart-wrenching episode. I thought the plot was kinda far-fetched (corrupt morticians illegally selling body parts from cadavers in their "care") until I read this article in today's USA Today.

What a strange, screwed up planet we've created for ourselves.
I am really surprsied about Close to Home. It was doing so much better in the time slot. I still think they will give Conviction a go. There was a memo that went out from Dick Wolf about hiring/ mixing up the shows and adding young ADA's. I guess we will see. But NBC is in alot worse place the CBS and needs to hang on to anything out there remotely with ratings.

Bones last night was great. The chem with Booth and Bones is getting so fun to watch! I look forward to the final two of the season. They look to be very in-depth character wise. There was never any doubt in my mind about DB'S acting and with this show getting better and better, I see it around for a good run.

I am sorry for CK, but with his music career taking off, I am wondering if he will have time for TV. He and his band are out there doing alot of concerts and flying all over the place.

I also thought Close to Home was doing well. Well, sorry, Mr. Kane, but your band apparently, what's the word I'm looking for ("legendary"? wrong show!), ah yes, rocks. Good luck in whatever you do next! :-)
I'm sorry to hear this about Close to Home. I actually think it's a good program. It's stronger, I think, than Conviction, which just doesn't quite work for me, except that JAR is by far the best actor on the show -- and he is under-utilized. Bones is OK -- although I'm sticking with Alias in that time slot until it is over. I figure I'll catch up with Bones in reruns. All this said, I'm still not a big fan of procedurals -- these are the only ones I've watched all year -- and only because of the 'verse actors.

I think it would be fun to have CK guest on Bones, although I would hope they would give him a better part than poor AB got. What a waste of a good actor!
And hey it's not like Chris hasn't played FBI guy before, did anyone see Taxi. :)
I sadly missed Taxi 2. Is it watchable?
DVD fast forward to the Chris scenes and yeah it's watchable. :)

Chris has actually been in Nashville for the past few weeks in active negositations with a record company but nothing signed yet but getting close.
Can you say what record company or who they represent? This so cool. I saw Kane in Arizona. I was going there for him and left loving his music.

I will have to check it out. And the really important question: Long hair or short?=P
Ah. I see that many folks here had a better impression than I did of Close to Home. I tuned in twice, realized that CK was only to be used as a pretty prop -- hey, it reminded me of that AtS S5 ep where he's in suburbia -- and I never tuned in again. Perhaps I was wrong, but I do wish better for our Lindsay.
Zip-Ity-Do-Da : Can't say who it is with yet, the boy seems happy with the progress of the deal so far though.

cronopio : I wouldn't say you were wrong. I could say a certain ex-lawyer wouldn't be disagreeing with you all either, about not tuning in.

How are you getting Bones came in third for the timeslot? I see only Deal or No Deal beating it in that hour.
Too bad about Close To Home. I actually liked that show.

Yay for Bones though.
KernelM :
"Deal or No Deal" (households: 9.4/16; adults 18-49: 5.0)
"Lost" (households: 7.2/11; adults 18-49: 4.4)
"Bones" (households: 6.4/11; adults 18-49: 3.5)
"The Amazing Race 9" (households: 5.3/9; adults 18-49: 3.0)
"America's Next Top Model" (households: 3.2/5; adults 18-49: 2.3)
"One Tree Hill" (households: 2.2/4; adults 18-49: 1.3)

I stand corrected the way it read the first time I thought Lost was on at 8pm not Alias. So Bones came in 2nd on the hour. Will amend post to reflect this.

RavenU - Bones was second at 8pm - Alias was the ABC show on at that time. It had a 4.3/7 rating. Lost wasn't on until 9pm

Hey Meng Meng!
Veronica Mars is being decided (officially) within the next few weeks, Andy. I THINK it's May 5th it's being announced, with actors knowing on May 4th. But I might have the dates mixed up.

So we finally get to find out whether or not the material handed out to advertisers several weeks back was accurate.
Those are really good numbers for the 18-49. Infact, from what I see every week, Bones is constantly in the top 20 for that demo.

Very nice.

I will cross everything and hope he gets the deal. His music is very fresh and Country is always welcoming another good looking 'ol boy.

He may not have had a big part, but I did look forward to the scenes he was in. YUM!
I'm really happy for David. So much for the naysayers. I wish everyone else was doing as well post the Buffy Universe. They're all great. :)
That's great news since I just luv Bones. :)
Bones is cool. Sure some could argue that it is just another CSI or Law & Order...but, heck I enjoy it.
Since so many Buffy/Angel fans has given Veronica Mars a lot of good remarks I have seen a few episodes and, you guys are right. It is VERY good.
Does anyone know when James Masters will be back on Smalville??
Where I love Law & Order, especially SVU, It just doens't possess the warmth and charm of getting to see David every week on my screen.
I don't watch Smalville but isn't James a regular?
I think he's a recurring guest star rather than a regular.
Marsters is a recurring character with guest star not main cast credit, where as the shows listed had verse members with main cast credit. (This includes Amy since she was just added to the main cast credit just rescently.) Except Veronica Mars is just special to so many in the verse that it had to be included in the line-up.

Thanks Simon. I really don't know a lot about what's happening on the series but from what I've read at other Buffyverse boards... I take it that he is the Lead Villian.

Where the actors that played the lead villian parts on Buffy...Glory, The Mayor and The Master wern't officially considered "regulars", imo, they were regulars for that season.
Maybe I'm thinking about it wrong?
It looks like James will be on the next episode....

http://thewb.warnerbros.com/web/show_episode.jsp?id=SM520
He is releasing the main villain for next year, besides Lex. I think on SV, Lex is always considered the main villian, with every other one trying to mold his evilness. There are two EPs left for the season.

JM has been in 8 eps total.
Oh, my bad. I stand corrected.
