'Prison Break' star praises Buffy, Sarah Michelle Gellar. Wentworth Miller, who also appeared in the Buffy episode 'Go Fish', picked Sarah as his most underrated actor in a Variety interview.

Wow, he's a lot better than I was expecting since he sort of looks like the vapid pretty archetype.

This does sort of make me insanely jealous. Good taste, looks, and intellegence should never be found within a single person since it rather puts the rest of us to shame. ^_^
I'm a straight guy, but if I were going to have a crush on another guy, I'd probably go with Wentworth Miller.

To be fair, he's probably the only person in the world named Wentworth... ;)
Seriously. I've never had an overwhelming urge (or even an underwhelming one) to watch this show until I read this interview.
I just saw the last two episodes of Prison Break's first season last night. It was pretty impressive, lots of dramatic events and cliffhangers over the whole episode. The plot is very complicated and quite unrealistic, but none moreso than the average episode of 24 with its startling fast developments and people rarely eating, sleeping or going to the toilet.

In much the same way that you just have to suspend disbelief in order to enjoy the Buffyverse, and not discount it because of the supernatural content, Prison Break is enjoyable and indeed there have been several very strong performances. Millar in particular is very engaging and is definitely the anchor of the show.

I think that was a really cool interview and it's nice to see someone who has such appreciation for a fanstic show that has been misunderstood and underestimated by so many people. It's nice to see another person very much in the limelight who is willing to comment on how brilliant Buffy was, and particularly on SMG's amazing performance. And of course Millar did have a role in "Go Fish".
Prison Break has lead a friend of my brother's to borrow Buffy season 2 just for this episode. And it's good to know Mr. Miller is smart offscreen too. :D
That is where I have seen him before!!! I never realised it was from Buffy until I read this article. Go figure!
Wentworth is brilliant, and I'm more than a little in love with him, but Fox put Prison Break on a several month break mid-season that completely killed my interest in the show.

It was fun going back and watching "Go Fish" after seeing him in Prison Break, especially with the knowledge that he was such an intelligent literati.

I know what you mean by that, potential, as the mid-season hiatus did lead me to focus on other shows instead, but I'd highly recommend trying to get into it again! The back nine does have a fairly good payoff, and it's nice to see the main plot actually go somewhere *coughcoughLost*, nonsensical though it may be. Wentworth is fantastic in some of the later eps too, so try to give it a go again!

That's pretty much exactly how I felt. While reading the article, I was going around, looking for reviews of Prison Break and seeing when the DVDs get released.
"'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' was a terrific show and Sarah Michelle Gellar was terrific in it. It's really difficult straddling that line between drama and comedy, action and romance, sci-fi and reality and Sarah did it beautifully."

The guy knows a star when he see's one. Nice shout out to Sarah. She's a class act on every level.
Loving the "BTVS was a terrific show" too. Damn skippy on both counts.
Couldn't have said it better myself about Sarah and the show. Hmmmm.....maybe I'll give Prison Break another chance. Honestly, the writing was just kind of OK, but I was more intrigued by the story line of him having that crazy attention to detail disease (I forgot the official name for it). They kind of dropped that story line. Oh, and I gotta have more girl power too. Too many guys in this show! But man, he is so pretty.
Why is there so much news on this Wentworth guy? There are plenty of people who were in one single episode of Buffy that only had a few lines.

It makes absolutely no sense to me why Prison Break news is considered relevant but Veronica Mars is cast aside. I've heard the excuses, don't try to make me listen to reason.

I'm too unreasonable.

There has been plenty of Veronica Mars news. I think that people felt there was just too much at one stage, and articles about things related to Veronica Mars which had very little to do with Joss began to swamp the news page.

Personally I think that was the right decision. There are strong ties between VM and Joss, and all of those, such as the involvement of Alyson, Charisma and Joss in VM, were all well documented many times. Since the decision to cut down on VM news, if there are big announcements (such as the show being renewed for a third season) then everyone is happy for them to appear here, or if someone which directly mentions Joss or his work, then it is entirely appropriate. However if everyone was to post the slightest bit of news about VM then it would be a VM weblog, and not a Joss one. Really, I don't see what the problem is as I am sure there are many VM sites out there.

And also, I don't think there has been a lot of news about Prison Break at all, and certainly nowhere near the same level of coverage VM has received. The connection with Joss is much less important than his ties with VM, and I think that has been reflected in the posts here. Had this interview been with another high profile but completely unconnected with Joss celebrity, for example off the top of my head, Matthew Fox from Lost, and he praised Buffy, then it would be newsworthy here. I think it's even more appropriate that Wentworth does have a connection to the Jossverse. However had the interview not mentioned Buffy at all I doubt it would have been posted here.
Sorry for not to keep talking on Prison Break _still not seen here at Old Europe, although... Am I the only person who thinks that most of BTVS actors have been underrated, and still are?

In my country there's a proverb that says something like "Envy is our National Sport and not soccer". When you're not only successful, but made a cult product, seems very difficult to be considered fairly, doesn't it? :(
