Warren Ellis thanks Joss Whedon for his insight into the process of writing a TV pilot.

Don't know who Ellis is? For shame, best sci-fi writer around.

This is awesome. I have been waiting weeks for him to announce what he is working on. He has been dropping annoying little hints for a while now. YAY!
Heh yeah, should be very interesting. Yay Warren!
Now we see if he heeds my pushing him, earlier today, to pimp the charity screenings. ;)
Not unlike JW, I'll follow Warren Ellis anywhere. Whatever he's working on is going to be fantastic.
Finally! I've been dying to know what his TV thing was. Warren is my #2 all-time favourite man. Under Joss of course. Or maybe number #3 or #4 under David Bowie or Wes Anderson.
Yay, Warren and on AMC, too. You never know who will "get it" and know a good idea when they see one.

*off-topic* but wasn't Christina Hendricks on an old-timey t.v. show that aired on AMC?
AMC...yecch. One of my least favorite cable channels. Two Weeks Notice an American classic? Riiight...

However, I shall watch Ellis' show.
Robert Duvall stars in and exec. produced a Western, two night TV movie that'll air next Sunday (6/25) on AMC. Looks quite good. Called "Broken Trail."

Course, it conflicts with Deadwood, so I'll have to record it.

But, yay for Warren, yes. I still want him to revive "Global Frequency."
Will try to find out more about Warren Ellis (I'm out of the loop on this guy, sadly). But I will say this: Joss + pilots = awesome. "Serenity" (the episode) is to my mind the richest, most textured, most enveloping pilot I've ever seen--it sucks you into this world and these characters without ever for even a moment pushing you out. (By contrast, "Welcome to the Hellmouth"/"The Harvest" and "City Of" are fabulous, but still have a few misstepps, particularly in "The Harvest.")
Anyone read the comments to his post on that page? Maybe do a find on "whedonesque.com"
Very cool. He's been hinting about this for months without being able to say much so official news is welcome. Had to be cable of course. US network TV just isn't ready for Ellis, even in diluted form ;).

WilliamTheB, he's pretty huge in comics though it remains to be seen if he can become that big in TV. Kind of like a reverse Joss ;).

(just have to plug issue 5 of Ellis' 'Fell', BTW. Easily one of the best single issue comics i've read in ages, maybe ever)
Have to agree with the Fell love Saje, it's definitely one of my current favourite comics. Would also like to talk up Nextwave if anyone wants an example of different side of Ellis' twisted genius. Very funny superhero team book. The 2nd issue was as funny as any comic I've read for quite some time.
