The best 11 movies based on tv shows. Serenity comes in #5 in this AOL feature beating the likes of Mission Impossible and The X-Files. And there's a poll as well.

I voted for Firefly/Serenity, natch, but it was painful to disavow Southpark: Bigger, Longer and Uncut. Painful but necessary. It's a cutthroat world, the world of TV & Movie-Polls-Held-By-Evil-and-Antiquated-Online-Web-Portals.
The sight of one of my four-year-olds screaming "KHAAAANNNN!" into a hairbrush last week, tipped me towards Star Trek II as well, but Serenity is the BDM, and that's that.
OK, that was tough. I voted for 'Serenity' but then when I saw the results I just had to go back and vote for 'Wrath of Khan'. 2 % ? 2 frikkin % ? It's easily one of the best TV to film adaptations and one of the most fun sci-fi movies of all time, IMO. Couldn't bear to see it way down there unsupported ;).
Charlie's Angels at 13%? gah. The Fugitive I can see. I enjoyed that, but Charlie's frikken Angels? I'm dumbfounded. For me it was a toss up between the Fugitive, Wrath of Kahn and Serenity.

@Kentonist, LOL! Try having a 40+ year old HUSBAND that runs around yelling that at random moments!

P.S. ONE of your four year olds? Dare I ask how many you have?

I vote for Serenity (natch). It had only 5% of the vote while (to quote Grace) Charlie's frikken Angels has 13%. Do people not have any taste? This is what going mad must feel like.

The Fugitive rocked. It also had a substantially larger budget than Serenity, as did, well, most of those movies. I think that, entertrainment value for inflation-adjusted dollar, Serenity is probably the best thing on that list.

One thing I don't see is the Wrath of Khan hate. I haven't seen several of the movies, and yeah, I can see Charlie's Angels getting the vapid and shallow vote, but I believe Khan is the oldest movie on the list. Some of the movies beating it were fun--I liked Maverick, for example. I can't help but wonder if Serenity has "stolen" votes from this classic sci-fi monument--the first Star Trek movie that didn't suck! :-)
Well, I can totally take Serenity being beaten by four very good movies...South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut (which I just bought over the weekend), The Fugitive, The Untouchables...and, yeah, I've never actually seen The Wrath of Khan. ^_^;;;

Of course, in my heart it is #1...but at least it beat fucking Charlie's Angels and Mission: Impossible, two very terrible flicks.
