From footlights to vampires. An interview with Alexis Denisof about his theatre work, the Buffyverse and Alyson Hannigan.

My local newspaper, that.
... I was in Rope in Chichester with Tony Head who would later be in Buffy, of course." See? Things do happen for a reason.

Simon! I bow at your feet, thank you so much. Are you nearby enough to see the play?
I live in Belfast so it's on the other side of the Irish sea for me so it's doubtful that I will see it but you never know.
"I thought the holiday had gone bloody well but I needed to get back to my house in London where I had left the tea on the sideboard and the post was piling up."

Dearest Alexis,
How to speak more like an American...
"My vacation rocked, but man did I have a shitload of mail to go through. And what the f*ck am I doing drinking tea?"

I've not read that many interviews with him, but he always comes across as such a well-mannered sweetie pie. Oh, how I wish I was able to see him in the play.
Thank you, Simon. It has been far too long since we've heard from Alexis. I'm so glad everything is going well with our favorite couple. Except of one. It took him that long to realize Aly's quite a catch? My, oh my.
Yes, thanks for the update. I hadn't heard much of his backstory, so that does help explain why he can do such a convincing (to a Yank like me) English accent.
His accent's pretty convincing all round I reckon. Nice interview that, always good to hear from Alexis since he seems to be one of the more under the radar 'verse actors. Odd since (IMO) he's also one of the most talented.

Still wondering who he supports. I have him with one of the London teams. Maybe Spurs or Arsenal. Anyone want to lurk outside the stage door and ask him ?

(actually gossi you could go into full on stalker enthusiast mode and frequent the pubs near the theatre. Never know who you might run into ;)
Yes, good idea. Gossi, do you accept bribes?
The theatre is about 10 minutes from my work. I'm actually planning to go with a load of the Serenity UK crew to see him in, uh, October I think. I plan to wear a "I'll take away your bucket, Alexis" tshirt and totally freak it him out as, you know, I'm THAT nuts.
Really enjoyed reading that. He sounds busy and happy.

And I was shocked to find out Alexis wasn't English. Especially after hearing his regular speaking accent. Most off-putting American accent ever.

And Gossi, that is pretty nuts. Especially since you aren't a girl after all, right? ;)
Holy crap! Alex Denisof is in Liverpool?!

I too may have to become a stalker/enthusiast. I'm pretty sure I walk past the playhouse sometimes on my way home from uni.

October the 5th - first anniversary of the London Serenity premiere, that should be easy enough for you to remember, tall man!

Bloodflowers, this is hilarious!

This was a great interview. It is hard to believe Alexis is an American; he was perfect as Wesley, IMHO. This production of "All My Sons" should be amazing!

Once you band of stalkers enthusiasts see the play, please give us a review, OK?
:P It would've been fantastic if he was a Liverpool fan! Great interview.
I am quite sure I saw him with an Arsenal shirt in some photo..
