Entertainment Weekly's Popwatch blog carries on the listmania! References the recent Whedonesque thread where Joss & James Gunn chimed in on their all-time favorite TV characters.

First please correct the post with the article's permalink:
http://popwatch.ew.com/popwatch/2006/08/joss_whedons_li.html.

As whedonesque gets even more mainstream, doesn't James Gunn (hey James, if you're reading this) got more whedonverse assotiations than Nathan Fillion, I remember he's name assotiated with Sarah Michelle Gellar's and Seth Green's live action "Scooby Doo" movies.
Nice coverage but we're not really MetaWhedonesque. Dunno if we should be covering articles that cover us. I'll leave this for the time being mind.
Makes not to self: create subdomain: http://meta.whedonesque.com specifically to track mentions of Whedonesque in other media outlets *gleeful/crazed drywashing of hands ensues*
Zeitgeist, then where will you post mentions of meta.whedonesque.com? I am spinning, spiraling, whirling... ;-)
Are you also twirling? Twirling towards freedom?
Does anyone else get the heebie jeebies when the "mainstream" takes notice of Whedonesque? It's not that I don't want Joss and all related people and things to get attention, it's just...I dunno. Please excuse my suspicion and general malaise.
Yes, yes I do. But only because I think the mainstream screws good things over. And you don't wanna know what they do with fish...

Don't get me started on the fish... poor fishes....

I was also just beginning my twirling when I commenced fainting in coils!
For the record, Javier Grillo-Marxuach (Lost, Medium, et al) did a list of his own, following in the Gunn-Whedon footsteps...

I've got the heebie jeebies and the general malaise, too, but I don't worry that much about Whedonesque. It seems about the same as it was around three years ago when I first saw it. Probably has to do with how Caroline guards her gates.

Well to be fair whilst Joss' TV list has drawn a fair bit of attention from the blogosphere, it's nothing compared to the coverage regarding the announcement that Serenity was to be delayed until September of 2005 and his love for Veronica Mars too. So swings and roundabouts, apples and pears ummm. That's all I got. But basically it'll be ok.
Seems safe to assume that by 2020, to a first approximation, all websites will either be Whedonesque, mention Whedonesque or be pluckily battling the behemoth Whedonesque over a trademark dispute. At which point someone will invent Whedonesque-nix and take the world by storm.

http://periph.whedonesque.com - for sites that catch Whedonesque out of the corner of their eye

http://tip-of-tongue.whedonesque.com - for sites that met Whedonesque at a party 6-8 months ago, recognise the front-page but just can't quite place the name

http://post-modern-irony.whedonesque.com - for sites that don't mention Whedonesque deliberately for the effect not mentioning Whedonesque causes.

http://whedonesques-not-news.whedonesque.com - for mentions of mentions of Whedonesque on Whedonesque

http://imdb.whedonesque.com - for up-to-the-minute devastatingly accurate news about Whedonesque's illegitimate offspring by Slashdot and Fark and starring role in "Wonder Woman 3: Thread of Evil".
Well, that was the plan, right? World domination, through coffee machines that think...and blog. Right?
I only hope the mainstream still has it's facination with geeks, nerds and dorks when Whedonesque becomes more popular than Yahoo and Google...I've seen one too many television news reporters and Saturday Night Live skits lampooning the fans in line to see Star Wars and Star Trek films.

(Yes Groucho, I too wouldn't want to join a club that would have me as a member)
And not only did EW's blog spotlight Whedonesque, but managed to make another nice shout-out to Whedon by listing Spike as his #2 all time best TV character.
How will we explain Wonder Woman II: The Search for Fish?

Top 5 plots for world domination:

1. Organize house parties around Joss Whedon shows.

2. Start a viral marketing campaign where the word "Whedonesque" shows up randomly everywhere.

3. Flood the internet with mackerel - each having Joss's face. Tell the authorities James Gunn did it.

4. Upload files entitled "American Idol" on some "torrential" site. They'll really be episodes of "Angel," but people won't know it until they download them.

5. Wear t-shirts saying "Joss Whedon is my Master" in church.
I still think the blogging coffee makers could work.

Oh, nevermind, fine. Nobody ever tells me when the plan changes, and then I'm dressed completely wrong.
I never knew Finola Hughes was on General Hospital... I love her show How Do I Look? :)
Who knew the Algonquin Round Table died and was reincarnated as Whedonesque? Another martini, Mrs. Parker Caroline? ;-)
LOL, billz. Thanks for the heads up, Simon, I was just excited 'cause I'm still a noob.
I will be more discerning from now on, while eagerly awaiting Meta-Whedonesque, the Fish Bowl of All Things Pop Culture and The Only Web Site You Need to Know.
"But basically it'll be ok."

I have no worries about Whedonesque. It's just when the 'popular kids' take notice I feel like they're going to beat us up and steal our lunch money!
EW is no slouch, and it's a nice shout out for a great blog.
