Angelverse comic book info for November. IDW has released more cover art and info for Angel: Auld Lang Syne #1 and Spike: Asylum #3. Also out that month is Angel Scriptbook Collection: Vol 1, a collection of the five best Angel scripts.

Interesting, although that second covers artwork is rather on the ugly side, unfortunately.
The one for Auld Lang Syne? It is a bit messy. Though on the plus side, Skip! I like the alternate one for the Spike issue, it's very striking. It reminds me of the photoshoot James did when he was wearing that lizard lounge outfit.
The summary for issue3 of "Spike:Asylum" sounds chilling, and i'm very curious about the story of Auld Lang Syne, the cover shows Holtz, Skip, and the Master. Wow, maybe we'll get the double-team of Spike/Angel vs The Master, that would be awesome.
Altough he is dead, so that could be a problem.

Hmmmm...Auld Lang Syne looks interesting, but yeah...the cover art is not that compelling. However...if the story is good I am fine with it.

The Spike Asylum #3 looks great too...but am I missing something here...where is the second issue??? Did they put it up for reveiw and I never saw it??? I pre-ordered the first issue, but don't recall seeing anything about the second. Of course I might have had a senior moment or something but if it involves Spike I usually do NOT miss a thing...just saying....
What sethsky, you think the comic might become too crowded with dead people (like Holtz, Skip and arguably Spike and Angel) ? ;)

I agree the composition for the variant cover's a bit too busy for my tastes but the individual images are well drawn. Spike actually looks pretty vicious as a vampire which is as it should be (I often think he's drawn with slightly softer edges as a vamp than he should be - possibly to keep fans happy).

kathylovesspike, this is just a preview for November's IDW releases. Spike: Asylum Issue 2 is due out in October and was previewed a while back (scroll about half-way down) with two very nice covers, one of which is inspired by 'The Usual Suspects' poster.
Humph. The Collection of Angel scripts descibe them as all be Whedon penned when they weren't. I've enjoyed reading them all though. Has there been news when the new ones are coming out? It won't be individually anymore, right?
Simon yes, that's the one. Too cluttered for my tastes and not all that great in style either.

I have to say I love both the variants for the Spike asylum covers though. Oh Spikey bondage, right up my street! *g*
What scripts are in the collection?
When is the first issue of the Asylum comic out? Is it our already?
What scripts are in the collection?

I reckon it will be the first five scripts that were released already. So that would be City of, Five by Five, A Hole in the World, Spin the Bottle and Waiting in the Wings.

When is the first issue of the Asylum comic out? Is it our already?

Spike Asylum #1 should be out in September.

Oh and btw there's a hilarious Brian Lynch interview at the back of Angel Spotlight: Connor.
Thanks Sage...how the heck did I miss that?????
Looks great though and I assume it will be up for preorder soon....

Oh I'm right there with you Suesworld...Spike bondage...Mmmmmmmmm!!!!

Ah thanks. A decent collection of scripts that, I may well have to invest.
Argh. I bought those Angel scripts under the assumption that they weren't going to be collected up. Silly me.
The Angel Scriptbooks are changing formats. All future Scriptbooks will be in a collected edition. The individule issues which were marketed to comic shops weren't doing well so they will now be sold in a collected trade paperback marketed to bookstores.Future trades will have new scripts. This one is just collecting scripts that have already been released.
Yep, up to #7 in singles then the script-books go to trades only. Presumably #6 ('Sanctuary') and #7 ('Dunno' ;) will also be collected in the next TPB.
Issue 7 is going to be,"Smile Time."
I'm glad their doing a TPB for the scriptbooks. I haven't started buying them, and I was hoping they'd do a TPB to make my life a little easier.

Hopefully IDW has the wherewithal to publish all of Angel in scriptbooks. The Firefly companion is great stuff, and it'd be nice to have scripts for other Whedon shows.
Saje, i don't remember saying anything about being too crowded.
I did however say that The Master being dead(as in dusted) could be a problem for my fantasy of Spike/Angel vs The Master, hehe.
Sethsky, since when has being dead and dusted been any sort of permanent handicap in the Jossverse? In any case, it could all be hallucinations.
In any case, it could all be hallucinations.

Or alternate dimension, I like the alternate dimensions. Except the one with shrimp, I tired of that one quickly.
Ah, yeah sethsky, but my point was Holtz is dead, Skip is dead and Angel and Spike are sort of dead (well, OK undead). That's a lot of dead guys ;).

The Master is dead now (like Holtz and Skip) but hasn't always been so, leaving it open for flashbacks, period stories or as Gill/Simon say hallucinations/glamours/alternate realities. Or he could just be resurrected somehow but, IMO, that'd detract from Buffy's mashing of him in 'When she was Bad' (she sort of did the 'monster mash'. Ahem).
Gill, there are only very few that came back after being killed.
And since almost everybody on that cover is dead(Holtz,Skip,The Master, blonde woman who i think is Darla but not sure), i'm pretty certain that it's going to be flashbacks, hallucinations or alternate dimension. I hope that it will be the last one, cus then there would be a chance of a final, epic fight.
I think putting out the scripts is interesting, especially in light of the cancellation of the series of Buffy scripts a few years back. I wonder just how far they will take it.
Sueworld2003 and kathylovesspike, I'm right there with you on the Spikey bondage issue. How many does it take to make a plebiscite??

Saje, I simply can't understand how you could tire of the shrimp dimension. I know Illyria did, but c'mon, s/he was a god, for pity's sake! And, um, "monster mash"? Go to your room.
Oh no, that was Simon. Huge shrimp fan over here. The world entirely populated by traffic wardens on the other hand... gnnnnnghh *shudders*.
