Shindig script raises $2,750 for charity in California Browncoats eBay auction. After hovering at around $760 for several days, generous Browncoat bidders raised the final price for Adam Baldwin's autographed original shooting script for the Firefly episode Shindig to an amazing $2,750, all for charity. Currently up for bid: Safe, which at the moment has a bid of around $960.
Whedonesque has had links to earlier auctions, and I think this ongoing event really shows the incredibly charitable spirit of the Browncoat community! The California Browncoats are continuing to auction off original Firefly scripts with autographs of the entire cast plus Joss and Tim, kindly donated by Adam Baldwin, who then personally ships the script to the lucky auction winner. All proceeds go to the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation, a group that provides scholarships for the children of Marines and federal law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, as well as assistance for Marines' children who have disabilities. New scripts go on the auction block on Wednesdays, and the auctions end 10 days later (on Saturdays). Help kids who need support, and get yourself a one-of-a-kind collectible at the same time!
