Overheard in NYC: Can prayer bring Buffy back? This mother doesn't think so.

I hope this post is allowed. I love this site and watch it daily. It never fails to amuse me. When I saw this one I just couldn't stop giggling. Even New Yorkers love Buffy!

Reminds me of Stan Mack's Real Life Funnies or whatever it was called...very amusing.
Great find, ESG.
That literally made me cackle aloud. Thanks!
In the word of Edna Krabappel: "HAH."
Oh, man, what a gyp-- you mean all those novenas I've been making were time wasted?

Nope, I refuse to believe it -- in My world, My God hears My Buffy Prayers, and eventually They will Intercede. They just work in a little different time frame than the rest of us, is all.
You're just in the faith-based Buffy reality, QuoterGal. It's a choice. I respect that.

Although I'm more inclined to think that lots of money, (LOTS of money), full creative control, and possibly scantily clad, but strong, women surrounding him, might be more efficacious.

It's basically an exchange from Futurama, I think even with similar named characters (Bender and Buffy). I still wonder if it's true, if only since I'm overly hopeful but I do still have pretty heavy doubts.

Fry: Is there anything religion can do to help me find my friend?
Pastor: Well, we could join together in prayer.
Fry: Uh huh, but is there anything useful we can do?
Pastor: No.
When I try to view the link, I get an error message saying that the file name is invalid. I also get several "close" file names, which was problematic because many of the entries were, shall we say, not work safe.
Yep, same problem as gobluegirl. I think the link must have changed?
Well spotted, orangewaxlion; I thought it sounded familiar. It is indeed from the excellent "Godfellas"; the good folks at Can't get enough Futurama even have an audio clip of the exchange (scroll down to #7).
That Can't Get Enough Futurama website *rocks*! /pimping other websites :-)
