Jewel Staite Blogs About Flanvention 2 Cancellation. Jewel Staite writes about how disapointed she is that she couldn't be in LA this weekend.

What else can I say? It fuckin' sucks.

I love her. (And I mean this in a non-creepy way).
Me, too (and I mean it in a slightly creepy way [KIDDING!])!
I love her!(and not creepy since I am gay!) :P Anyways, I think its soo cool that she leaves close that close to a SG-A star(and he lives in her mom's bldg!). And I loved the bit about Wash's identitical evil twin...
I can exclusively reveal that Wash's identical twin looks like THIS (they got the character styling from Knight Rider), and Serenity 2: Wash's Revenge is shooting right now.

yeah he has the evil twin mustache and everything! I wonder if Wash will start employing the force... oh wait wrong sci fi....
Jewel is such a babe! How sweet, F-bomb and all!
Oh Jewel, the way you type "it fu**in' sucks" makes my heart sing because I can almost hear you saying it. Makes me thing of Nathan saying, as only Canadians can, "you fu**in' bastards" in one of the Slither extras. What a great gal. I hope I get to meet her and the rest of the cast some day.
You know, it really hadn't occured to me before that some of the performers might have turned down other paying work this last weekend for the 'con, then had it knocked out from under them at the last second.
So, I guess there is some powers in the verse that can make her not be cheerful...
I fuckin' LOVE Jewel...I can say that, right? I mean Jewel dropped it...lol. Seriously she's awesome. Loved the part about Tribe not being Lost...

no Matthew Fox's (why, God, why??)

hehe I agree there!
Pretty much agreeing with all above. The girl rocks!
I, um, 12th the motion. Oh, lords, how much do I love this woman's posts! Ms. Staite rock/rocks/rockin', no doubt! :-)
FYI, over the last day the hotel had people rushing about converting it into a Marriott.

So, not only did Browncoats open La Cantina, we shut down the Burbank Hilton. ;)
Jewel would have loved the Backup Bash. A big ol' Browncoat shindig made by fans for fans.

I'll betcha if Jewel had been there, Jonathan might have had a dance partner when he climbed up on the bar Saturday night!

Well, guess that means we Browncoats just gotta arrange another Bash next year, and make darn sure Jewel can be there. Browncoats give good shindig... heh..
Meltha- I know the Bedlam Bards turned down 3 weekends (they would have had to commit to 3 weekends to get the gig) at a renaissance faire and one weekend at another con. So it sucks for them.

But on the other hand, I can't wait for Darkcon. I will be there with my parasol in hand.
you know its sooo easy to be really pissed off at BE....sooo tempting... but I am just going to walk away and beat an innocent pillow senseless or something. Maybe even take candy froma baby.

That's what makes us special.
I managed to miss this because I was at dinner with people from the Goners boards:

Sunday night at the Hilton, nearly 70 B3 attendees participated in a raffle benefiting Fringe Theatre Adventures, a non-profit organization in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The donations totaled approximately $1500, and were made in honor of Nathan's next birthday!

Cool, at last something can be partly my fault. The way I see it, everything is usually all your fault, especially lately, so this must make a nice change for you.
I'm very fond of her, in as creepy a way as that can be construed ;-). Also sort of worried about what I said about 'Tribe' now cos if it was pre-Coffee it may not have been entirely flattering ;).

The Stargate character sounds pretty cool too, wonder if she'll be a Doogie Howser style prodigy or a more acerbic Chloe (from '24') style genius cos they'd both be fairly different characters to what i've seen her play (which'd be great). Gonna miss Paul McGillion though, I liked Beckett (and that he was Scottish - dodgy accent excepted ;) - since it made the show feel more internationalist) but as Ms. Staite states (ahem ;), in sci-fi no-one dies forever.

(also, how cool is it that Paul McG lives in the same building as Jewel's Mum ? Guess Canada must be like Scotland, everyone knows everyone else ;)
Congrats to Jewel on finding steady work in her own cool town. Vancouver totally rocks. Jewel, if you read this, say "hey" from me to my college buddy Kit M. who works on SG:A. Cheers!
Why yes saje, I know all of the 1.5 million people in Vancouver! And I am on the other side of the country in montreal! :P

And browncoats truely rock...1500 was given to the organization, and all those items were doanted to the raffle. Even after such an ordeal ,the browncoats continually amaze me.
