And here's an announcement that many will not have seen coming...in interviews over the past four years--because it's been that long--I've been asked many times if I would ever go back to BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER. My replies have always been cautious. Never say never, right? One of the reasons for my caution was that there have always been a few Buffy stories I still wanted to tell but never had the opportunity to tell. One of them has been told by someone else, so that's out. However, earlier this year I had a long conversation with Patrick Price at Pocket Books, and the result is BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER: DARK CONGRESS, which will hit stores in trade paperback in Summer 2007 and in which I get to do a lot of things I've been wanting to do for a while, one of which is something I'm going to guess most Buffy fans never thought would happen. Chances are good that it'll be my swan song.

Why do I now imagine that he writes about something so horrendous happening that he would be tarred and feathered if he tried to write more Buffy novels?? But I must admit, my curiosity is piqued...

As a reader of the Buffy and Angel novels, I've always been proud of the fact that the franchise has been able to draw such exceptionally talented authors. Chris Golden has always been in the front ranks of those writers, and I'm excited he's coming back at last...even if it will be for his swan song.

Okay, that was just mean but it's gooooooooood. Hee! Trust me when I say that if you DON'T read this book, you will be missing out on something VERY nifty!

Not that I would expect you could or would tell.Any hints?
I wonder, does this book take place after Chosen or Not Fade Away? The cover of the book is similar to Queen Of the Slayers which was a non canon Buffy season 8.Is this sort of a sequel to Queen of the Slayers and continues, time line wise where that left off, moving post Not Fade Away?

big hairy lesbianman, the Golden. ;-)OzLady | December 17, 00:00 CET
About the silhouette figures on the cover. The title of the book is called,Dark Congress so maybe it involves something dealing with the demon community being united or something.

Or Buffy is now a Congresswoman with Riley as the President. I got to stop reading Tom Clancy novels.

Buffy faces the most dreaded menace of all: a week-long field trip to the U.S. Mock Student Congress! There she must battle bill riders, master parliamentary procedure, and slay filibusters. The perk? Angel is her Congressional page. ;)

Gee whiz, you folks are all so...political. My mind immediately went to the sexual uses of the word "congress" and such phrases as "having congress with the Devil". So the question is, did my mind go there because I have been watching a lot of BtVS, or do I watch a lot of BtVS because that is the kind of place my mind goes?
Hmmmm. ;-)
