Firefly Star and Producer Reuniting To Drive. Cinescape says that Tim Minear saved Fillion from "Bruce Campbell rejected direct to video trash"

I think the writer's holding back on his feelings about "White Noise 2" a bit. *g*

And I can't see Tim holding out for Nathan and not utilizing his talents to the fullest extent.

Cannonball Run, anyone? I'll be pulling for this 100% because of Nathan, but if it was anyone else, I wouldn't be giving the show a passing glance...

I'll call the author on something here - White Noise The Light is a theatre release job.

And, ya know, actors take what jobs they can get. I don't think any of the Firefly cast are fighting with Speilberg on the phone each day, because that isn't how things work unless you're - like - a huge, proven draw for crowds in movies.

As for Drive utilising Nate's talents - I have a strong feeling his character might just be a tad cranky and funny. Which reminds me of another character in another show.

gossi - I agree with you. :) Unless you're an "A" star commanding paychecks in the millions, it's rare that you're going to turn down a decent paying lead role in a film being released through a major studio. I don't have a problem with Nathan taking the role - I was just joking that it seems the author of the article does, because it's obvious he didn't like the first one.

I gotta say, I fail to see the basis for a Cannonball Run comparison beyond its very core of both involving automobiles. Tim Minear does not strike me as the type of person to lend himself to such material.

I doubt Bruce Campbell was considered for this, if you want to turn it around a little.

In the comments? Somebody compared Nathan to Kyle MacLachlan? Is there a dyslexia-type thing that applies to just seeing and hearing, rather than even reading?

What are you talking about? Cannonball Run is a high mark in American cinema. ;)

Nathan's already worked with The 'Berg; he's so over that.

I've been saying for a while now that Nathan is one role away from stardom. I'm hoping Drive is it. And I'll say to doubters of the awesomeness of this show: give it a chance. The eight minute clip I saw at B3 blew me away, and I'm not a girl usually into the whole "car-race-intrigue" thing. Even if Tim and Nathan weren't involved, I'd watch Drive based on the clip I saw.

newcj, some people (not me for the most part, fortunately) need cable to get any reception at all, even the free channels.

Yeah... in my semi-basement apartment, I just have the tv(not even any antenaes... ) and all I get is the CBC.... which is ok.. but I dont get the free channels. And in Canada, Fox wouldn't be free ,but chances are the show Drive would be broadcasted on CTV or Global.
