Astonishing X-Men: the trailer. Marvel has created a trailer to promote Joss's final AXM arc, UNSTOPPABLE.

The trailer reveals that it runs to #25? I thought it stopped at #24, to be followed by a Giant-Sized Astonishing X-Men?
EDIT - this was an error and the video is down while they fix it.

...waits...

...some more...

Squee!
Hey, that was actually pretty cool. Besides the shaking and taking off at the end, the "19-25" was perhaps the best part. I wonder if the giant-sized annual just turned into a final issue?
Wait, what happens after issue 25? Is the Astonishing X-Men series over, or is someone else taking over as the writer?
A new writer is definitely being selected, and probably has already been.

14 Feb 2007!!! *crys, crys like a hungry angry baby*

Oh and the trailer was cool. But now regret looking at it because of the flashes of panels from after issue 12. :( I now have regret like a hungry angry baby. Guess this nappy needs changing.

Damn, the line between funny and wrong is never big enough. Here ends the disturbing imagery.

That was very cool.

Stan, Jack and the rest of the bullpenners never got a send-up like that!
Joss wasn't in the video, but it felt like HE was a Super Hero. -Wait a sec... he Is... to us. :)
Has Marvel ever created a trailer like that for any of their other titles? Because that was great!

They've done several. Civil War certainly had one.

Ain't that the truth!
Nice trailery goodness...

Well, good luck to whoever Marvel has to follow up Joss on Astonishing; it's one hell of a run to follow.
Very nice trailer! Just picked up "Gifted" and "Dangerous", it'll be my first time reading X-Men, gotta get started!
I'm debating whether or not I'll continue reading after the double-sized, quarter-centennial issue. I love AXM and I love the characters, but I think it's Joss' writing that appeals to me.

*sigh* Does UNSTOPPABLE really have to be the end of the Whedon/Cassaday run?
The trailer appears to be down. All I get is a "The video you are trying to watch cannot be viewed from this website" message.
Me too, MichaelH.
Still no trailer. :(
It's back up again, but exactly the same as it was before... weird.
It was taken down to fix the line that said the arc lasted up to #25.

They know there'll be riots in the streets if they promise us more Joss and it doesn't turn up. :-)

(Now if the trailer would stop telling me my connection is too slow, I could check if that is actually fixed now.)
Weren't they originally going to retire this title once Joss was finished with it ? I could've sworn I read (on here, no less) that Astonishing was being kept aside as a Joss Whedon-only project. Something he could go back to, even, if he ever felt like it, with no other writers potentially mucking it up.
I really hope they do retire it. I like that idea that years from now he could pick up where he left off with these characters if he wished.

Can't wait to read it altogether.
Well, seeing as Joss Whedon didn't create the X-Men, and there is not a chance in hell that these lucrative characters will be stranded without an ongoing title when his run ends, it would be hard to take that notion seriously.
Not a comic expert, so not sure but couldn't the the title be retired for awhile? Aren't there other X-men titles out there currently? Couldn't the next writer just start writing... EvertheAwesome Xmen or something?

They were considering stopping AXM after Joss's run, but only that: considering.

Keeping it aside for Joss to come back later is just an impossibility--those are some of the most core X-Men characters. They're not going to disappear from the universe for an indefinite period of time.

April: Nah, Astonishing is selling too well for that--there'll probably be a drop after Joss is done, but the next writer will still carry over a lot of the audience. A differently-adjectived X-Men title would have more trouble getting off the ground.

I'm still rooting for Greg 'Phoenix Endsong/Planet Hulk' Pak.
Please not the Endsong guy!

I really like not constantly wanting to smack Emma, and when Pak is writing her, I pretty much do.

I wish Brubaker wasn't already doing Uncanny. . .
