Gina Torres expecting a baby. Congrats to her and husband Laurence Fishburne, who are expecting their first child this summer :)

Maybe director Robert Duncan McNeill (that's "Tom Paris" to you Star Trek: Voyager fans) was just being artistic, but tonight's episode, "Peer Group,"--whose guest cast was excellent as the troubled teens, by the way--planted Gina Torres sideways behind w-i-d-e-screen LCD computer monitors and kept her in either tight closeup or distant shadowed reaction shots. Was it art--or is it pregnancy? Anybody heard anything about Gina possibly being pregnant??

numbereleven, I know! They showed up at a movie premiere on a motorcycle together a few years ago, and I was like, "Oh, I didn't know they knew each other." And Fishburne's all, "Oh, this is my wife." Say what!?! I guess they met while doing the second Matrix movie.

I only knew because there were pictures of their wedding in an old InStyle magazine. She was a beautiful bride. I always thought that he was totally cool, but having such great taste in women totally sealed the deal

My twin UnpluggedCrazy and numbereleven and Valsadie, I'm pretty sure they met a long while before Matrix. Zoe appeared so little in the Out of Gas ep because that's when Gina was on her honeymoon, according to Tim Minear's commentary track on the DVD.

And, chasa, thanks for this post -- this is ROCKIN' great news! Congratulations, Gina and Laurence! :-D

BTW, I'm having a little sniffle (must be a cold, I can't be crying!) thinking of Zoe and Wash and their parenting plans. :-(

If she is due in the summer, she would hardly be showing enough to warrant hiding behind plants and stuff in November - even if she was expecting twins. It was either an artistic choice, practice for later when she is showing, or a decision to make that the way she is usually shot so shots of her behind chairs and bushes wouldn't be out of the ordinary later on.

Aww, congrats to the happy couple, hope all goes just as smooth as can be ;).

(I doubt they'd have to hide any bulges yet, 5 months is when it usually starts to show, but if it's anything like as excruciatingly obvious as Diane Farr in 'Numb3rs' then we're in for some unintentional hilarity involving her sitting behind desks, carrying files in front of her stomach and/or only ever being shot from the shoulders up ;)

The filming of Diane Farr in Numb3rs has been really odd.....and I figured she was pregnant but sort of managed to forget about it, until she walks into the office in yesterday's episode holding a giant paper bag in front of her stomache..... :D

Congrat's to Gina and Laurence- their's is going to be one beautiful baby. Not that all babies aren't beautiful. :D

Congratulations to Gina and Laurence. With such talented parents it'll be interesting to see what their baby is like. If it's a girl, I can smell a Firefly- The Early Years spinoff featuring Gina's daughter as a young Zoe. Hey, if Joss was involved, it would work.

billz, I was thinking they could aim for autumn this year. Gina and Laurence have been fairly prolific thus far and I suspect their offspring would be the same. Firefly Babies definitely does have a nice ring to it...
