Gina Torres expecting a baby. Congrats to her and husband Laurence Fishburne, who are expecting their first child this summer :)

Awww. She's going to have a beautiful baby.
CALLED! I knew it!! Congrats, Gina & Larry Laurence ;>!:

Television Without Pity forum post, Nov 28, 2006 @ 10:10 pm

Maybe director Robert Duncan McNeill (that's "Tom Paris" to you Star Trek: Voyager fans) was just being artistic, but tonight's episode, "Peer Group,"--whose guest cast was excellent as the troubled teens, by the way--planted Gina Torres sideways behind w-i-d-e-screen LCD computer monitors and kept her in either tight closeup or distant shadowed reaction shots. Was it art--or is it pregnancy? Anybody heard anything about Gina possibly being pregnant??
This is great news. Congratulations to Gina!
::blinks:: Gina Torres is married to Cowboy Curtis Lawrence Fishburne??

How did I miss THAT?

Congratulations, guys!
numbereleven, I know! They showed up at a movie premiere on a motorcycle together a few years ago, and I was like, "Oh, I didn't know they knew each other." And Fishburne's all, "Oh, this is my wife." Say what!?! I guess they met while doing the second Matrix movie.
Yay! Congrats!

...And it's good to see that I'm not the only one who didn't know she was married to Laurence Fishburne.
Wow! Learn something new everyday!

Congrats to the mom and dad to be! :)
I only knew because there were pictures of their wedding in an old InStyle magazine. She was a beautiful bride. I always thought that he was totally cool, but having such great taste in women totally sealed the deal
Awww. That's wonderful. Congrats to both of them.
My twin UnpluggedCrazy and numbereleven and Valsadie, I'm pretty sure they met a long while before Matrix. Zoe appeared so little in the Out of Gas ep because that's when Gina was on her honeymoon, according to Tim Minear's commentary track on the DVD.

And, chasa, thanks for this post -- this is ROCKIN' great news! Congratulations, Gina and Laurence! :-D

BTW, I'm having a little sniffle (must be a cold, I can't be crying!) thinking of Zoe and Wash and their parenting plans. :-(

If she is due in the summer, she would hardly be showing enough to warrant hiding behind plants and stuff in November - even if she was expecting twins. It was either an artistic choice, practice for later when she is showing, or a decision to make that the way she is usually shot so shots of her behind chairs and bushes wouldn't be out of the ordinary later on.
Congrats to Gina and Laurence!
Yay! They will make a pretty baby!!! Sending lots of healthy baby and healthy mommy thoughts their way!!!
So wonderful!!! Congrats to the happy couple!
Awww cool. Congrats to Gina and Laurence!
This is amusing, considering how much speculation there has been about Zoe being pregnant with Wash's baby. Good for Gina, and good for Lawrence!

Who do you suppose is in there?
Shiny!

Congratulations to Gina and Laurence!
Congratulations! - what a beautiful baby they'll be expecting.

And RayHill, the who do you suppose is in there reference cracked me up. :)
I did not know they were married either until the commentary on Out of Gas.
Aww, congrats to the happy couple, hope all goes just as smooth as can be ;).

(I doubt they'd have to hide any bulges yet, 5 months is when it usually starts to show, but if it's anything like as excruciatingly obvious as Diane Farr in 'Numb3rs' then we're in for some unintentional hilarity involving her sitting behind desks, carrying files in front of her stomach and/or only ever being shot from the shoulders up ;)
The filming of Diane Farr in Numb3rs has been really odd.....and I figured she was pregnant but sort of managed to forget about it, until she walks into the office in yesterday's episode holding a giant paper bag in front of her stomache..... :D

Congrat's to Gina and Laurence- their's is going to be one beautiful baby. Not that all babies aren't beautiful. :D
My Joss, that's gonna be one amazing-looking kid. Yay for them!
Congratulations!
congratulations to both of them
Congratulations to both of them. I wish them a healthy, happy baby and an enjoyable pregnancy.
Twin billz; ya had to go and get me snifflin', didn't you? :'-(
Dead Leaves, my bro UnpluggedCrazy, dead leaves. :-(
Funny...I have long said, "They need to have lots and lots of kids, so that the world is a prettier place."

Congrats, Gina and Laurence!
billz...I keep meaning to write a follow-up to Dead Leaves, but I never get around to it.
Yay, congratulations!
Congratulations to Gina and Laurence. With such talented parents it'll be interesting to see what their baby is like. If it's a girl, I can smell a Firefly- The Early Years spinoff featuring Gina's daughter as a young Zoe. Hey, if Joss was involved, it would work.
I'm not so sure -- how young a Zoe do you have in mind, Razor? Unless you're talking Firefly Babies, it sounds like it could be at least a 10-15 year wait for Gina's daughter to age into the role! ;-)

dear gods -- Firefly Babies -- I can feel the Whedonesque cartooning/graphics community getting to work already ;-)
"They need to have lots and lots of kids, so that the world is a prettier place."

ChrisinVirginia, you said it better than I could.

How cool will it be to have Gina Torres as a mother???
Sorry I'm late for this, but this is great news four our fave space warrior. Congrats to Gina and Lawrence!
So how quickly do you suppose Joss can write and shoot the sequel to Serenity, in which a grief stricken Zoe discovers that she is pregnant with Wash's child?
He's just finished the first arc of Buffy season 8, so he's got time, right?
Sure, I had to get this info from a different source because it had scrolled off the main page...Gah! Time to RSS Feed!

Congrats to Gina and Laurence on this magical event!
37 my ass! Why would Gina lie about being older than she is? Boggles the brain...
Anywho, can't wait for the "Out of Gas" ep of Standoff and Drive. If you recall, her marriage was how the original began...
billz, I was thinking they could aim for autumn this year. Gina and Laurence have been fairly prolific thus far and I suspect their offspring would be the same. Firefly Babies definitely does have a nice ring to it...
