(SPOILER) Running in a different direction. Marvel reveals solicit and (spoilerish) cover for Joss's Runaways #25.

Joss is also mentioned in the body of the article, and Joey Q promises preview pages soon.

There's also a mention of the role joss played in the ending of civil war. Joe had mentioned previously the large role that joss played in scripting the ending. Too bad the book is delayed a month.

Ack! Yes, spoilery! The cover basically reveals who lives through Vaughn's last episode, in an arc where everything has been hinting at death for the past few issues.

Probably not its own front-page entry, but The Buffy Zone has a very witchy wallpaper available for download. (I figure the image may be from the next Buffy cover.) I have a new appreciation for Jo Chen now.

Looks good, almost caught up with Runaways now, read up to issue 19 (got issues 21-23 but just couldn't find issue 20) really good comic. Hadn't realised that we were going to be getting 3 Joss written comics all at once, thought Runaways would have gone on hiatus until his run on Astonishing finished.

2 questions if anyone has the answers:

Is the Runaways/Young Avengers crossover mini-series worth getting? Where does it fall in the continuity?

Is Astonishing X-Men going monthly like we were told the final 6 issues would, or is it remaining bi-monthly for the remainder of it's run, and are Marvel keeping the title going after Joss leaves?

Nice find Telltale, that Willow art is amazing, wonder if it's from the issue 3 cover?

Ghost Spike- don't quote me on this- but i think Astonishing X-men is "suppossed" to remain monthly, but i think it was running late before? So maybe it won't come out when it's suppossed to? I'm pretty sure that the title is ending with Joss.

I thought Runaways/young avengers was fun- but didn't really have any effect on the continuity of Runaways itself. And it was nowhere as good as either of the originals. Maybe just borrow it from someone you know;)

ETA: BTW, do my eyes deceive me, or is Buffy being attacked by Rorschachs in that new scan? Golly gosh, could that mean a Buffy/Watchmen crossover is forthcoming?

I would seriously pay (someone else's) hard-earned cash for that...

I think that the Young Avengers & Runaways - Civil War series is fun because it underlines the differences between these two groups of young people, but the series doesn't appear to have any effect at all on Runaways continuity. The Young Avengers group are New Yorkers who are wannabe heroes, while our Runaways are California kids who want nothing to do with adults (heroes or not), it will be interesting to see what Joss moving them the NYC will do to them.

Simon, that image you linked is actually from the tail end of the first Buffy monthly, from the series of stories bridging the story of the movie and the TV show.

Ghost Spike, to be honest, I read Young Avengers/Runaways, and thought it was very inferior to either of the teams' own series. (It fits between Runaways #21 and 22, I think?) But, well, I'm still going to buy the trade when it comes out, so take that as you will.

Ah, okay, gonna post the wallpaper on the front page. Shouldn't risk anyone missing this Willow.

I haven't been all that impressed with Young Avengers/Runaways. It's not up to the usual standards of either of those series.

Astonishing X-Men will be continuing after Joss leaves and hopefully will stay on its monthly or every six week schedule. Joey Q mentioned that the new creative team is in place and it sounds like the new Astonishing writer will be attending the X-Men creative summit next week.

I thought YA/Runaways was decent. I liked it. Doesn't factor much into the rest of Civil War though. In terms of continuity I think it takes place after the Dead Means Dead arc.

Bring on Joss! But I'm kinda bummed he's taking the kids to NY. I liked the Runaways were in California. There's like no superheroes in my state! Also kept them kinda self contained.

Flightofserenity, I believe Joss has said they're just stopping in New York to pick someone up, and will then continue to do some actual running, rather than sit in a secret HQ all day. Maybe they'll tour all states and then return to California?

You know who would be nice to have take over AXM? Joss! Come on, it's possible he loves doing it too much and is sticking around longer after all.

Damn, Leinil Yu still does the best Wolverine. That's beauti...Oh, yes, Runaways. Very nice cover, though I didn't look at it for too long in the event of any slight spoiler. And I'm also very excited for the new Loners spin-off. I'm glad the existence of another character named Penance has finally been addressed, too.

Freaky! This is exactly where I am. I just ordered issues 20-22 by ebay. Hope I get them alright.
I realy love Runaways so I think I'll buy YA/Runaways when the book comes out.
Should I check Loners too? It is a Runaways spinoff, and I did kind of like them there.

Well, apparently it's got art by Karl Moline, Joss's partner on Fray, so you know it'll at least look pretty.

CaptainB, I agree. Yu should draw Wolverine again. The series, not just the character, who will probably be on the New Avengers when Yu starts on that anyway.

God, I hope your judgment's worse than Bendis' on that. I have a hard enough time believing Wolverine would even be on an X-Men team. But Avengers!? Weirdo. In case you haven't been, check with Newsarama.com daily as they reveal the new NEW AVENGERS line-up.

(For the record, I think Bendis is often a brilliant writer--but his choice of Avengers members is definitively not mine.)

I wouldn't be too sure that what we see on this page is the actual cover to #25. Perhaps Marvel released a false image to mislead us. It wouldn't be the first time. If it's the actual cover, though, then they're idiots. :)
