Well, at least now the other shoe fell and it's one less thing to speculate about? Or, well, more than one, considering the multiple events that were slated to possibly-maybe-sorta happen.

Look for other "Least Surprising" contestants, such as, "Still No Greenlight on Serenity Sequel," "Gellar Reluctant to Revisit Buffy," "Unknown Actress Fitted for Wonder Woman's Tiara?" and "Marsters Fans Remain Dedicated," coming soon to a Whedonesque blog near you! ;)

So, there are even more people who have paid money to Booster and can't get it back? Sheesh. :-(
How are people doing with getting Flan2 refunds? I've read some con reports where some of the people who used credit cards got some love from the CC companies, but how about other peeps?

Now you can't blame that JM mention in a completely non-JM-related thread on the crazed obsessed JM fans this time...you're not a crazed obsessed JM fan, are you, jenolen? *frets*

Oh, and I suspect those who paid for Flan 2 tickets through PayPal (namely me) are out of luck. But I'll call them this week just in case.

"I just received an e-mail that Booster is cancelling it's 2007 events. This does not surprise me. If you are someone who e-mailed me regarding 2007 events, please send any e-mails correspondence between you and Booster and copies of your receipts. If you paid by credit or debit card, you should attempt to get a charge back from your CC company. Anyone receiving a charge back from their CC company please let me know that info, this includes those of you who received a charge back regarding Flan II.
The investigation continues. Surpriseingly, Booster and affiliates are not cooperating. I wish I could tell you more, but I have to keep the details protected."
If you need to contact the Detective about Booster's 2007 events he can be reached at bon[at]ashland.or.us only for the 2007 events at this time. I think he has enough from the Flan II, but anyone who may not have gotten their Nano refund might want to send him that information as well.

Was this a personal e-mail the detective sent?
Yes, leiasky, although it's been published. I'm not even going to get into speculating about the situation, but you can read between the lines with the last sentence. All I can say is the amount of money people are out is a significant amount of money -- this isn't like a builder who ripped off a few grannies -- so it'll get investigated. I've no idea if people who can't get their banks to do something will get anything back long term, though -- I hope so.

I'm not on the Detective's e-mail string so I didn't realize his e-mail went out to a bunch of people. I've since scene this posted elsewhere:)

I'm actually right here in Louisville, just a few miles from the Marriott where this was to take place, and I feel the same way! I can never attend conventions out of state because of my real life (you know, a job, money, tickets, etc), so I was planning on going to BBII if I had to sell my hair or my car. I guess it is now a moot point. Good luck to all those who need refunds--don't give up trying!
