Check out promo pics from "Drive". Also includes some pictures from FOX' TCA presentation. Sadly, Amy Acker is MIA from the pictures.

Amy's a reoccurring, not a regular, so not in the photos unfortunately. This show has a high level of pretty.

Richard Brooks is also missing from the photo. I am guessing they took the shot as soon as they had most of the cast set in order to have the shots ready by the TCA's since there was so much overhalling in the cast.

Yes they are pretty, in a generic TV kinda way.

Oh, Cap'n, it's so good to see you back on the little screen.

Man, I hope this show works. I'm afraid to get worked up over it just to have it pulled out from under me like... well, you know.

Imagine how Minear feels! :-)

This is one FOX show I want to succeed. So I'll support it, in my own meager way... even if it's got the life expectancy of a gnat.

How long do gnat's live anyway?
Gnats' life span?? Somewhere between 4 and 13 hours I think. And the 13 is if they're very lucky.

Erm...

I'm looking forward to seeing this. I'll admit that the premise doesn't grab me like other things do, but I want so badly for it to be a success.
I can't remember ever being so excited about a show that hadn't yet aired. Every time I hear something about it, I just get more and more anxious.
Granted the premise is weird, but I'd rather watch it than yet another retread of the courtroom/hospital/police station/Special Crimes Against Vagina's theme. Also, the thought of Nathan vrooming along in a fast car is not entirely unappealing. *fans self*

"Does that seem right to you?"
Actually, I think gnats live more like four months long.

Four months is good.

Seven years is better.

If they keep the vehicle characterization from the original pilot, he's actually vrooming along in a big pickup truck. Even hotter, IMO, though that may just be my inner Texan talking.
Aye, the pickup truck is still there, dreamlogic. It's a sexy beast.
An article with some quotes from the TCA event featuring some great quotes from Tim about the future of the show:

"...when asked if the show is going to have different arcs in different seasons, he pleaded mock ignorance by saying, 'I've never been past 15 episodes myself.'"
Thanks for the article CA Bridges. I found this part of the comments interesting.

"3. Tim Minear never worked on Buffy. His other Joss Whedon show was Angel. It's a mistake that happens often.

4. Minear himself said he worked on "Buffy," so that's what I went with. Maybe it was in a capacity that doesn't make the list on IMDb.

I am not the most intense fan and even I have heard interviews where TM has bemoaned the fact that everyone credits him with working on BtVS when he didn't. I wonder if this fellow just really misheard him or did TM finally say "to hell with it" and go with the misinformation?
Cap TP will have those hotties eating out of his hands in no time...if this isn't *his show* already, it will be. Can't wait. Has anyone heard if Drive will get a DVD release?
The premise isn't something I'm really enthusiastic about...but it's Tim, it's Nathan, it's Amy, it's on TV, and that's all I need to know.

(Notice how left the bit about it being on FOX off. Just trying to ignore that ominous sign.)
Has anyone heard if Drive will get a DVD release?

We have to wait for it to be cancelled first. No wait, I mean be a massive hit.

Tim did direct a small part of the episode Fool for love, the boxer rebellion part - spike jumping - because he directed Darla.

I think Drive is to The amazing race what Lost is to Survivor (If you get my meaning). Thats not a bad thing and I like Tim Minear more than J.J. Abrams.
I'm worried about Fox's tendency to shuffle time slots. How good are they about keeping their website updated and accurate with when stuff is supposed to be on?

And where should we be sending the "Drive, why are you so awesome?" postcards? Y'know, when we've seen a couple of eps and know for reals that it is.
I'd hold off on the postcards. They're going for a 3 hour premiere, with the head of FOX saying yesterday "We're very excited about [Tim Minear's] Drive. We have every faith that this is going to be a top show for us."

So it might actually get promoted.
I can't wait for this to happen, lets hope it comes to Australia and not at 1am in the morning like all the other good shows. And Nathan is looking damn fine.

JJ Abrams shows might last longer, but Tim's shows are quality not quantity.
"...we were thinking of calling the show Firey Ball of Death."

Hmmm. I hope the fact that Nathan is the lead keeps him immune from any death balls. Although to be honest, my first thought on seeing this was: 'Uh oh. There goes Amy.' Luckily for her, my instincts are almost invariably wrong. ;-)

Wow, that's so optimistic. I read it as, "We think this show can swim. So we'll just throw it in the deep end and see if we were right."

Not that I'm cynical, or anything. (I mean, in the bet I've got going with friends, I'm the one betting all 13 eps will be aired. :-P)
All you LJ peeps out there, feel free to join my Drive community, where we'll have episode discussions and share icons and other fun fannish stuff like that.

/end shameless promotion.

Does anybody else think that Emma Stone bares a striking resemlance to Lindsay Lohan?

THREE HOURS???

Wow. That's a huge ep. In fact, I can't remember any show having a three-hour premiere before. I'm conflicted about whether it's wise.
ESG - I did immediately regarding both joining your group *and* the LL resemblance :)
The three hour premiere is spread over two nights. Two eps on the Sunday, one on the Monday. Variety are predicting that this may be the only Fox drama this year to get a second season based on the current launch plans.
Well at least they won't be able to cancel it before the third episode, thats something.

And that is definitely a Lindsay Lohan double.
dreamlogic - pick up truck, you say? Mm. *wants*

And yeah, that's like a lil baby Lohan right there. Please keep all your clothes on young lady, kthxbye.

I second the concerns re. a three hour pilot. What, did Peter Jackson direct? Or are they just running three eps together and pretending it's intended that way?
