(SPOILER) An early review of Buffy #1 at Newsarama. Not really spoilery, but if you want to be completely surprised by the series, you might want to skip this article.

Nice find. I hadn't realised that the issues were being sent out for review already.

Btw I slightly reworded your subject line to make it a little more relevant for the front page.
I was just about to post it, too. Funny how this interweb thing works.

Welcome back, Scoobies

My heart just heated up, after the somewhat negative news, from the last couple of days.
Almost doing the "Dance of Joy".

As as sidenote, the page also features a review for Eric Wright's "My Dead Girlfriend" right after the review on BtVS#1.

With that reference to the Buffy line "Dawn's in trouble, must be Tuesday," I'm now so hoping that there'll be a similar line in the comics, but with Wednesday instead. :-)
I SOOO can't wait until March!!! How should I expect it to arrive since I have subscribed? Will it come in an envelope? Do they put something in it so it won't bend/crease? I am a comic...virgin *blush*.
Quick question: is Amazon traditionally known for getting up new comics for pre-order? I'd really like to just order S8 through them, but they have yet to put it up. If they're not going to, I might as well sign-up on that other site.
It's a beautiful day in the neihborhood *whistles to self*
OK, even more excited now. And so envious of Troy Brownfield!
mikejer - they will put something up when and if a trade paperback collection of the series is made available, but not individual issues AFAIK.
mikejer, AFAIK, Amazon don't sell single issue comics (though they might in the US). They sell trade paperbacks (TPBs) which are collections of all the issues in a particular story arc (usually 4-6) and, being firmbound and thicker than comics, sort of qualify as books. TPBs are released anywhere from weeks to months after the last single issue in the arc has gone on sale.

(and even then i've noticed that my local comics shop almost always has the trade in stock before Amazon, sometimes weeks before)

ETA: Or what zeitgeist said ;).

I've never seen single issues of a comic sold on Amazon as other have said. I'm kind of suprised that there isn't a comics counterpart of Netflix out there yet, where they could charge you membership fees to ease off on shipping. But I guess there isn't a big enough market out there for that.
Thanks for the heads up everyone!

Yes indeed. Means I can subtly plug our Eric Wight contest.

Remember you have to be in it to win it.
No pain, no gain.
Dumb question. But where do I buy these?
Try your local yellow pages (or Web equivalent) under Comic Books. If you have no store locally, I'd suggest getting a relative or friend to get and save/mail them for you. Shipping will probably cost as much as the comic.
And it can also be ordered online at TFAW.com.
Does anyone know how much TFAW charges for postage and if they will mail to Canada?
I'm really glad that the Buffy/Dawn interaction will be like it used too. And that Xander is being appreciated for the guy that he is. Sounds great so far! Can't wait for March. :)
Sooo excited! I never buy comics (have bought a couple of Astonishing X-Men TPBs though), how much do issues usually sell for now? (in Canadian $ if anyone knows) And I presume Buffy will be coming out monthly?
I don't think I could possibly be any more excited about this.
The good news - February only has 28 days.
The bad news - I can't wait that long!
All this Spoiler information keeps popping up here and I just read the first line about the 3rd issue and regreted it. If I had known I would have tried to gat a job as a reviewer for Newsarama.
Excellent, excellent.

Can't wait!
Add me to the waiting not so patiently list. I can not wait to get my hands on this comic. I don't even like Comics but this one, I already love.
... how much do issues usually sell for now? (in Canadian $ if anyone knows)

Normally they go for around $3 US which in Canadian is ... carry the one ... multiply by 10 ... allow for VAT ... About 5 Beaver pelts and a good fishing pole.

(kidding ;-). Lot of time for Canada and Canadians. Apart from anything else they're one of the few countries Scotland can still, on occasion, beat at rugby. Unlike bloody Johnny Wilkinson England *mutters, grumbles*. At the moment, BTW, $3 US is about $3.50 Canadian and yep, the current plan as far as we know is monthly issues but in comics, as in life, there's many a slip twixt cup and lip ;)
Well I'm impressed that the series seems to be shipping monthly so far.
Simon, don't jinx it, damnit! ;-)
