I saw my first promo for Drive on TV last week. Nathan just had a small part in that, and I don't remember if Amy was in it at all. This one is even more intriguing. And the more of NF the better!

I haven't been this hyped about a new show prior to it being released before, but this show looks awesome. That line is just so bad-assed too. "Which scenario is gonna have the better outcome you think?"

Yep, it's true, I just compared photos of Nathan Fillion and Malcolm Reynolds and they are the spitting image of each other ! ;-)

(it's a fair point though, I guess any overtly tough role he plays will have a little of Mal in it for us, certainly to begin with)

Ooooh, thought just occurred, do you think they name their cars ? Cos I can think of one for Malex's ;).

That was such an awesome story, Simon. I was thinking more along the lines of "Quitters, Inc." in the same book, the one with the threat of wives'pinky fingers being cut off as incentive to quit smoking.

I certainly gotta wonder if Tim's doing some serious nodding to the Jossman with Nathan driving what looks like to be a late-60s to mid-70s Ford or Dodge. Cuz it's a good vehicle, but not the top of the line...kinda like our his last big ride;)

That's unless he's souped her up for his job as a rogue landscaper. Ya know...all the better for the quick getaways;D

He does, especially when he says, "Which scenario's going to have the better outcome, do you think? The one where you come out and face me, or the one where I find you?" Of course Mal would never use a word like 'scenario', but otherwise he sounds just like the Cap'n squaring up for a fight.

It's not a good thing if she's really already dead. That would cut way down on AA's role.

ETA: Unless they're going to do the Lost flashback thing, which I don't like.

@ Saje and Cranky: You're right, we will always see Mal in his performances. After all he did give us a rather full range of emotions - what with Joss' great stories and all that jazz!!

I'll agree to the looking like, because similar shirt and same face and body, but I have to say no to the sounding like. His voice was the same but he was not using the accent.

When I first heard about this show I thought it sounded dull but knew it would be good because it was a Minear creation. Then, I REALLY knew it would be good cause it had many stars of many Joss shows (specifically 2 stars and 2 shows). But, I still thought it sounded dull. Then I saw an ad a few weeks ago that said something like "Drive" and showed a car. Still didn't do it for me.

This did it for me. Can't wait.

And I agree. He seems quite Malish in this.

Ok. I heard it Minear was doing a new series. Didn't even care what it was about, that doesn't matter.

Then they added Nathan and Amy to the cast. Even more reasons to see it.

But now... now I am truly excited about the premise too! That was awesome (and great Fillion acting, too!)

I have my reasons to see it now. I can't wait. Not just to see the show but to have some shadowy well funded powreful group put me in the road race from hell. As opposed to the road race from hell known as rush hour traffic that I'm in everyday anyway.

Now if only VM will get picked up by CBS and off the CW. Ahhh. My new fav show with a real budget.
