But just in case, I'll throw some Invisiotext in it
This should be curious, cause this actually brings the events beginning after NFA, instead of co-currently to events from Angel S5.
Giant Dawn. Sweet.

Poor Dawn especially considering we have a pretty good hint at how this happened.

Never got dull for Spike! At least not until season 5 or so...

It does beg the question of how much of the events of what would have been Angel season six will be mentioned. In fact, I wonder if Joss will even stick to those plans now? A post-apocalyptic style, demon infested L.A. would be equally as big news as Sunnydale being destroyed and hard to avoid mentioning so it could be that Joss has had other ideas about that. Nice to know that Angel, Spike and Illyria will be a lot more likely to show up now though. IDW allowing, of course.

And that's really interesting about the timeline of this. I thought it was previously stated in an article that the comics would be picking up a few months after Chosen.
maje | February 07, 19:35 CET
Poor Dawnie!
jenofthejungle | February 07, 19:50 CET
Timeline -- I can see why there's the skip in time. It's more interesting to start the story with the gang and the organization all set up. Though,I hope we do get to see some of what went into setting up the organization and finding the new slayers. What about the new slayers that didn't want the power, did Willow do a spell that took away their power/calling? Did the spell only work once and doesn't affect potentials born after Chosen?
This is fun.
MacGuffin | February 07, 19:57 CET
With all that said, I will stay optimistic and wait for the thing to actually release before I say anything definitive. Maybe Whedon can actually make it work.
mikejer | February 07, 20:06 CET
(And after a previous spoiler that would seem to relate to Giant Dawn's condition, what jenofthejungle said sounds REALLY REALLY wrong.)
Lady Brick | February 07, 20:25 CET
Oh well, there are plenty of other things to be jazzed about in this comic. Bring it on.
cheryl | February 07, 20:35 CET
I am very curious now about what will be mentioned regarding season 5 of AtS. Although, I'm also curious if we'll learn anything at all. If Angel knows nothing about Buffy's true mission--is she paying that much attention to him? Curiouser and curiouser, as Alice would say. Can't wait!
You're not the only one Cheryl. You're not the only one.

For me, she is more like Gulliver in the land of Lilliputians. I hope they can use her new strength in the fight against evil :)
Lince | February 07, 21:38 CET
I didn't mean it that way! *blushing* I just meant that the imagery reminded me of Alice looking big and stuck in the house. I wasn't thinking about the reason she got that way.... *blushing many shades of pink* ...although there might be something to it.

As for what jenofthejungle said, let what happened to Dawn be a lesson to all you girls (and maybe some of you guys too). Be very careful what you put in your mouth whenever you are dating somebody new.
That's what you meant, right, Jennifer? :D
Demon-X | February 07, 21:48 CET
Well, it is what I mean NOW....lol!

This spoiler raises more questions than it answers. How very strange of Joss.

I can't wait for this series, everything I've seen from it has been stellar.
Brian Lynch | February 07, 23:41 CET
And I think Giant Dawn is wonderful example of totally comic-y & totally in character.
jcs | February 07, 23:47 CET
Sooo....it would probably be REALLY wrong now to make jokes combining all this with Dawn's "it was like a meat party in my mouth" line from S6 right?
Thought so.
Okay.
Then I won't;)

You know what would be funny, if she got to spit fire like in "After Life".
What would make Dawn 18 and they're in Europe. Why am I getting flashbacks from Eurotrip, now?
Maybe Willow got really good with enlarging clothes magically.
And while, now I'm kind of doubting Urkonn's words, maybe it'll be linked to the downfall of the watchers and how Mel got to be called in "Fray".
Oh well, there are plenty of other things to be jazzed about in this comic. Bring it on.
As I must've posted before, that's how I always imagine that battle ending. It's so sweet in my mind.
And justify the definite move to Scotland as their homebase, and maybe there was actually some truth to little of what Andrew told us, by telling to the Fang Gang, during Angel S5. Maybe Will and Kennedy were really in Brazil, gathering slayers from Latin America, and Xander was Africa doing the same. One year half sound justifiable, especially now they got units with hundreds of slayers.
Stepping on über-vamps, must be fun, though.

Except then when Andrew tells Spike in,"Damage" that Willow and Kennedy are in Brazil and Xander is in Africa,he then also tells Spike that Buffy is in Rome which we now know is false. If the other Scoobie locations are true then that would mean he only lied about the Buffy part.

Anyway, my main thing...
Giant Dawn? The fuck? I'm not sure whether I want to laugh hysterically or scratch my head. May as well do both!
ETA:
My friend just called her "Dawnzilla"!
If one of the characters does not take the opportunity to call her Dawnzilla, I will be very disappointed in Joss!

Then I scrolled down.
I love Joss.
This is going to be so awesome.
WilliamTheB | February 08, 03:08 CET
So maybe she was right and Dawn just graduated automatically.
I hope the timeline of the comic isn't after NFA, cause then we will only hear about what happened there from outside sources. I really hope the IDW thing won't be a big problem, Angel and Buffy were on different networks for a while and they made it work.

Actually that's the whole point. Andrew is supposed to lie about Buffy's whereabout. From what we know from the few pages we'e seen the whole decoy Buffy's was something that all the scoobies agreed to.
Excerpt from Buffy's narration in Buffy, the Vampire Slayer#1 - page 5 (transcribed in December from those preview pages):
The guys figured I was a three...set up two other slayers to be me. One's underground. Literally.
One's in Rome partying very publicly--and supposedly dating some guy called "The Immortal".
That part was Andrew's idea. He did research on the guy, said it would be hilarious for some reason.

Well if it is a West coast thing, that would make sense, cause...California. I have just always been familiar with the either K-5 or K-6 then 6-8 or 7-8 and 9-12. Back when I was in school 7 & 8 was called Jr. High. Now 6-8 seems to be middle school. Does that mean that in the system you discribe 10th graders are Freshmen, 11th are Sophemores and 12th are Seniors? (Because Juniors seem to be the logical one to leave out.) Kind of a bummer for 10th and 11th graders.
