Variety reveals Adam Baldwin in NBC pilot. He's part of the cast of "Chuck", which is produced by the creator of "The O.C." and will be directed by McG. Not much about what the show is about. However, it says that Adam was part of "The Nine" rather than "Day Break".

Chuck? As in how much wood would a wood chucker chuck if a wood chucker could chuck wood?
Even if a woodchuck could chuck wood, and even if a woodchuck would chuck wood, should a woodchuck chuck wood?
Apparently it's a Spy comedy-drama “in the vein of Grosse Pointe Blank.”
I think maybe woodchucks need to look at diversifying. Picking pecks for instance. Or I hear there's a job in retail opened up by the sea-shore.

Good to see the big man maintaining the flow after 'Daybreak' ended and if it's in the same vein as 'Grosse Pointe Blank' and anywhere near as good, then count me in.

(also nice to see Kevin McKidd remaking 'Quantum Leap'/'Seven Days' in a new show about time travel. Always seemed a shame he didn't get more opportunities after 'Trainspotting' but 'Rome' might be just the second chance he needed)
GPB rocked! This could be good -- and, yay Adam for getting a new job! :-)
I'll say one thing for our Adam. He sure as hell has no problem finding work. I've never known an actor move from one series to another the way that he does. I just wish one of them would take off for him and last longer than 13 to 15 episodes!
I'm guessing he'll be playing the lead's boss or mentor as you couldn't call Adam a "young" spy anymore. They probably wanted to find someone at least as tall as Zachary who is 6'4" himself and not a bad actor -- I loved him on Less Than Perfect. Tall actresses are going to be begging for guest spots on this show.
"in the vein of Grosse Pointe Blank". Ahhhh! A film I've seen about 10 times.

Just realized - it adheres to the Whedon "high school is hell with a great soundtrack and clever dialogue" theme - except with more guns (and pens). And in this case it's the high school reunion with professional killers.

If any of you haven't seen this film - do so!

I dunno, Sean Maher's done something like 7 series in the last few years. Most of 'em for FOX. Most didn't actually, you know, air.

Adam and Alan are great character actors, and deserve the work they get.
I didn't realise that Sean Maher had been through as many series as that, gossi. Although that might be because of the fact that so few actually made it onto the box, as you say. :)
My restaurant was written into the pilot!!!! A customer of mine mentioned he read for a part and the scene was set in in my restaurant. I didn't think much of it until I got a call from a Warner Bros location scout, who came by and took photos. Still waiting to hear if they'll actually be using the restaurant for the shoot.

How cool would it be if it was a scene with Adam?!?!

bugmom
That would be the coolest.
And yay for Adam! I hope he plays a bad guy. He so good when he's bad.
;)
bugmom651, SWEET! How did they know of your restaurant? Other than by its fabulous reputation and amazing mexican coffee.

Is he the hot square-jawed blonde guy who was also in Dog Soldiers ? I've seen Trainspotting a couple times, but I can't remember his role. Keep meaning to watch Rome on TV, but now that it's in its second and final season, guess I'll just catch up on DVD. That and The Wire are the only HBO dramas I'm not on board with yet.

Heh, he didn't sink that many dramas (I say, I find your hyperbole to be, um...overly hyperbolic!). Aside from Firefly, he was the lead in Ryan Caulfield: Year One and part of the ensemble in The $treet. That's it for main parts on TV though. I think The $treet aired half of its 12 episodes and Ryan Caulfield only had a couple of its 7 eps shown. Those were both in `99/2000 and then Firefly didn't come along until 2002, and since then he's had pretty much just Serenity, that Living 'Til the End movie I still really wanna see, and a made-for-TV John Stamos flick. And a guest spot each on CSI: Miami (watched that one, he played sleaze nicely but I hate that series) and Ghost Whisperer. Was kinda hoping/optimistic that he'd be discovered and highly acclaimed by now, or at least have a few stellar indie flicks under his belt.

Yeah, that's him (good film 'Dog Soldiers', BTW, nice mix of funny, cool and horror). He played Tommy in 'Trainspotting', the guy who liked football and thought they were all daft to do drugs but then gets sucked in and ironically ends up addicted just as the rest of them are getting off the stuff (or dead). Not as flashy a part as the others and so probably a bit harder to play in some ways.
I say 6 eps.

Anyone else wanna try and guess how long the show will last.

Sounds like it'll be good if it survives.

Edited 1 yr and a half later. Holy crap it survived. However it is good.
