Wow.

I wish Summer the best, but I'm just positive that this programme is going to be crap.

I'll probably watch the pilot, but it'll have to do something bloody spectacular to convince me otherwise.

As much as I enjoyed The Terminator series, I'd rather see a tv show set in the future with big robots killing people than the every day tales of John Connors mum.

Well, an ensemble drama based around the Connor family works more for a TV series than big robots killing people if you ask me. Big robots killing people is what movies are for.

I'm just positive that this programme is going to be crap.

The first two films are about Sarah Connor and in the third she's dead. So when exactly is this series set? Presumably between II and III. So the series is about Sarah hiding out from the law until she passes away from luekemia? Thrilling.

I love the thought of Summer kicking serious a**, but I kinda agree with the crowd that this does not sound real promising. It might be set between 1 and 2, when she's raising young John Connors while running with the Latin America paramilitary -- also not thrilling. But yay for Summer working! :-)

Doesn't sound too bad as ideas go but I agree they'll presumably have to play merry hell with continuity. I'm still (barely) watching 'Smallville' though so continuity's clearly not that big a deal to me (also, quality ;).

David Nutter's a big name though. Josh Friedman (the screenwriter) blogs here all too occasionally and seems to have an entertaining sensibility.

I heard about this a while back and to be honest it didn't really interest me, not being a big Terminator fan in the first place.

Summer's involvement might make me pay more attention (because I ADORE the girl) but even she could make The 4400 watchable for me so I'll wait and see.

From what I've read, seems it's more about Sarah and John traveling in secret trying to take SkyNet down. Perhaps they become a sort of monkeywrench gang? In a way that's a shame, cuz I think Summer would make a great Terminator!

Let's not forget though how we laaaughed when we heard that someone was remaking 'Battlestar Galactica'. There's always a chance this will work.

"She has the weight of the world on her shoulder and she also has to raise a 14-year-old son who may be the salvation of the world," he said.

I'm not sure what to think about this. Except that I keep thinking it's the "Sarah Jane Chronicles" the BBC are making.

Though my friend who loves Terminator but hates Serenity (we're not close friends) isn't gonna be happy.

Good example with BSG, feelinglistless, I thought that sounded like such an awful idea and it took a lot of recommendations for me to check it out.

The third Terminator movie was pretty disappointing, but this is before that, so who knows?

The actor that is supposed to play Jon is 19 year old Thomas Dekker (there was a discussion about his character on Heros going straight). Can he play a 14 year old? He can easly be a 16 year old.
Summer will probably be his girlfriend.

But it did take me some time to write all this, did Fox cancel it already?

Personally, I think it's a terrific idea and I hope the writers and producers have a very clear vision of what they want to accomplish. I never saw the third film, didn't see the point without Linda being in it, so I would have no problem with Terminator "canon" being broken into bits.

This show has been known amongst the Heroes fans for weeks since the actor playing Zach will be in it. Although, when it first became news, Sci-Fi was going to carry it. Wonder what happened?

I'm with Tonya J. I didn't see the point to anyone (much less anyone not named Cameron) making T3, so gladly skipped it. This however feels like a different direction, I'm interested to check it out (if it makes the air).

I'll definitely check this out, but I hope it doesn't feel like Smallville in its approach. I like the kid from Heroes who plays Zach (guess we can expect him to bite it soon, unless he's able to carry a show and do occasional guest-spots. He's never felt permanent on Heroes though). Also, it has Summer and I kinda like Lena Headey too. Without Linda Hamilton (who, let's face it, was the real star of the first two Terminator films, gave us the most emotional investment in the stories to go along with all the action and effects), Headey seems like the closest you can get to looking like Sarah Connor.

Not gonna get all up in arms over Zach's apparent de-gaying on Heroes until we've seen the last of his character and his storyline is fully played out. Reserve the potential anger at Thomas Dekker's management for later. And NBC (who it's widely reported gave creator Tim Kring the mandate to make all the Heroes characters straight, despite him and Bryan Fuller going on record in interviews last summer that there'd be a character who'd be casually, not-intended-for-ratings-hype, just your average gay teen).

I am jumping with glee! The Sarah Connor pilot is shooting in Albuquerque, New Mexcio (where I live) so my heart is beating rapidly at the thought of a Summer Glau sighting! I have friends on the crew and from what they've said shooting started on Jan 25th and 2-3 eposides will be made here.

Gossi, I want to thank you for finding the Wikipedia thread about the Series.

Ever since Summer canceled her appearance at The upcoming FarpointCon I had been wondering what she's been doing. The folks at the Con said she had a new acting job and was filming immediately, but web searches under her name weren't productive. I just happened across the tidbit I posted when it occured to me that I hadn't searched for her in Variety. If you blink, you miss her mention in the thread! Someone earlier in the posts theorized that she'd play the 14 year old's girlfriend, but Summer is 25 in real life. I doubt she can pull that sort of thing off now....

But the girl has a JOB! I'm delighted for her and I for one think this could work out pretty well. If the show succeeds or fails, it's all about exposure. I think this one is gonna take folks by surprise. :)

Very happy for Summer, not very happy about this series though. Sarah Connor, for me, will always be Linda. It's just one of those things I can't look past, even if the new actress is as gorgous and as right for the role. I guess I'm kinda strange in that way. :o

I will watch this when it comes out for pure morbid curiosity (and now for Summer yay), just as I did for the not so good T3 film. Hey, maybe it'll surprise me and even manage to get me to look past the no-Linda Sarah.

Maybe she'll do both. Peter Macnicol is both in "24" and "Numb3rs"(where he's even a regular, if I'm not mistaken), and the same can be said of Rena Sofer, who's recurring in both current seasons of "Heroes' and "24".
Not watching "The Unit" though, despite Summer's part in it, not really my cup of tea.

Curious about the concept of this Terminator mid-story thingie, but not that much interested. But as someone, who did enjoy the movies, I'll definetely check it out.

Yeah, he's a regular though by strange coincidence, around the time '24' would've started filming, MacNicol's character, Larry (who's a theoretical physicist) got a chance to go on the ISS. So in the Numb3rs-verse he's currently in low Earth orbit for about 6 months ;).

(that doesn't mean Summer couldn't do both though, not watched 'The Unit' yet but if her part in either show's not too large then maybe ...)
