Whedonesque - a community weblog about Joss Whedon
"I know you've heard colorful rumors about what an Active is. Robots, zombie slaves. They are, of course, quite the opposite. The Active is the truest soul among us."

TV Babe of the Day: Summer Glau. Serenity comes to The Unit.

"Anyone who has seen the Joss Whedon Firefly spinoff Serenity can attest to the fact that Summer Glau is one butt-kickin' babe. "

Summer is so beautiful and talented, I'm really happy to see her on The Unit (I just wish they would move it from Tuesday night when every single show I watch is on!).

Amen to that sentiment, embers! Definitely can't wait to see how her storyline gets further explored, along with Mack's guilt about sleeping with Crystal (and boy does that sound a lot more soap opera-y than it should!)

Kinda surprised the article didn't talk about her upcoming role in The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Cuz if IGN wants to pimp Summer's ass-whooping skills, what better way to do that than push her role as a Terminator (at least, according to AICN ;D)...
I'm so happy for Summer, she has a special talent that the world should really take a gander.

For me, she stole my heart with AtS 'Waiting in the Wings'.
On the front page of that site, babes.entertainment.ign.com, Summer's picture is right at the top, but just below it is a link to an article titled "IGN's Top 10 Favorite TV Couples," with a picture of Buffy and Angel. :D
I had really high hopes for The Unit, considering it stars two of my favourite television actors (Dennis Haysbert and Robert Patrick) but the show just didn't hook me at all. I actually struggled to make it through the first episode, watched about half an hour each of the following two and then after that forgot it was even on.

I really can't work out why it is that I don't like it because it's the type of show that I'd usually go for but for whatever reason something is lacking for me. A pity.
Roxtar, any issues with David Mamet? You never know what could be the cause;)
Roxtar, I was the completly opposite way. "The Unit" didn't seem like my kind of show at all when I first started watching it for Summer. I'm not a person who really appreciates combat action or 'who done it' stories. But now I find myself tuning in every week. It really got me hooked.
Does anyone else think she has a strong resemblance to young Sigourney Weaver?
Hmm...you might have something there, war_machine ;D

Still...nothing against Ms. Weaver - since she was the first cinematic female action hero...and probably the only one that can possibly be taken seriously after the "missteps" of Catwoman and Electra - but I kinda prefer Summer;D
