The Legacy of Joss Whedon-more anniversary love. Nice tribute detailing the impact of Joss's work on other television offerings, plus a plea for more.

Heh, I knew I should have just front-paged this when I dropped it into an earlier Buffyversary thread.
Oh, sorry. Looked through the archives but not through all the threads. Mods: if it's old hat, feel free to move it.
What a great article.

I recently got hooked on The Shield dvd sets. I never made the Shawn Ryan/Angel connection... but now that show's "must not miss an episode" quality makes sense to me somehow.
My sentiments exactly, Hjermsted. Well, not exactly. I'm going to add an 'effing' and an exclamation point. What a great effing article! :)
I read this the first time it was posted but missed the Shawn Ryan/Angel connection. One more reason to say "way to go, Jossverse alumni". The Shield kicks serious ass.
Loved the article. but they missed a couple of things, of course. They can't include everything, but Whedon killed off a main character in the Buffy Pilot (Jesse) but just couldn't afford a seperate opening credit sequence with Jesse in it (as per his commentary)
And of course, the whole Smallville meteor mystical convergence that made that series work for the first 2 years seems to be ... borrowed from Sunnydale's Hellmouth (or is it from Collinwood) as well.
