Serenity special edition cast commentary details. Find out who shall reportedly be speaking about Serenity for your audio delight (reg required).

It's Ron, Joss, Nathan, Adam and Summer, if you don't want to register.

Just so you know, you need to be registered to see it. Registration seems to be quick and painless enough, but maybe you should copy and paste the relevant info...?

Just for anyone who doesnt know at S4, Ron annnounced that the cast commentary for the dvd included him, Joss, Nathan, Adam and Summer.

I miss those who didn't get in on it, but I have to say I am extra glad that Ron DID. I think it will be interesting to hear him talk about, well, dying. It will also be interesting to hear what he thinks of scenes he wasn't in! Also, it totally rocks that we will finally be hearing something from the Hero of Canton! And, won't it be great to hear Summer talk about her stunts and training! And, oh, yeah, those other 2 guys, too. *squees* Thanks for this rockin' find, gossi! :-)

Will they all be on one commentary? Cause multiple commentaries would be nice (plus - that many people in one commentary usually means you don't get to hear much from the quieter ones [aka Summer], although I'm sure Joss and Nathan will give her plenty of questions.)

Well, given that Joss said he wanted a "full-cast commentary", and given that the quote is "Ron annnounced that the cast commentary for the dvd included him, Joss, Nathan, Adam and Summer", then I would imagine it's safe to assume this is one commentary.

Coool ! Hey, it's an extra extra we're lucky to have.

Gotta say though it would have been great to have the whole band back together (which would almost certainly have necessitated multiple commentaries cos 10 people couldn't be heard over each other. Which would've meant more commentaries. See what I did there ? ;). Maybe for the tenth anniversary Super Special Edition.

And agreed, phone commentaries could add a whole new dynamic to the proceedings too.

Yay, Adam! I was so disappointed that they didn't include an Adam commentary on "Jaynestown" or "Ariel" where he went above and beyond. And it will be nice to hear from Ron and Summer. Too bad there's no Sean.

Plus, I cannot help but notice, Alan, Jewel and Morena all did commmentaries on Firefly eps. Adam, Ron and Summer did not. So, really, the missing person here is Sean, IMO. ;-)

Oh the joys of commentary. Sometimes they're boring, but some of them make the movie that much better. Like Pirates of the Caribbean with Keira Knightley and Jack Davenport? So much better than the movie. And Joss on OMWF? Not better, but so very excellent. "This... is pornography!"

I'm so excited for special features of any kind because it means I'll get to have two copies of the film on my shelves! I'm a collecty nerd!

Another nice feature that they could include (Sorry to be Off-Topic, but a friend in Australia mentioned this to me) would be to add something about the "Those Left Behind" Comics. The more Pretties Joss adds, the more this becomes a truly "Special" Special Edition. :)

You could bundle them together as a package. The V For Vendetta special DVD set included a comic book from what I remember.

I hope they don't. I mean as it is I'd be paying for product I already own... seems a bit unfair that they could bump the price up to sell me another product I already own (which is incredibly easy to get hold of) along with it.

Although having said that, a booklet with the eleven covers might not be such a bad idea.

Honestly I am hoping they are cramming in as many features as possible, but I am guessing that maybe they won't do that :S They may even plan for a triple dip:S Oh and its the 5 year anniversary of firefly soon, right? You think Fox will plan to release a special edition too?

Yes, kurya. For example, on the dvd of Rent, Chris Columbus is doing his commentary in San Francisco and the two leads are doing theirs on the East Coast. They're watching the sync'd movie on monitors, and connected via a phone connection.
V.O. work, including post-production looping, and even musical duets are also done this way.
Ain't technology grand?

Actually Simon, I think you are thinking of the Sin City SE DVD when it comes to the included comic book. Cuz the copy of the V For Vendetta SE I have didn't come with any comic book I noticed;)

This is fantastic!

And the phone-in commentaries are definitely possible, as in Arrested Development S3, several of the actors were in different places. Then again, that set also gave new meaning to the phone-in commentary: The cast kept making fun of Jeffrey Tambor for not being there, so Mitchell Hurwitz actually called him on his cell phone. Many laughs were had.

I hope, at some point, we get to hear an Alan/Jewel/Sean commentary.

And is it sad that after all this time, I've only listened to Buffy commentaries up to Marti's for "What's My Line? Part 1," just the first Firefly commentary (Joss and Nathan on "Serenity"), and no Angel commentaries? Damn me.

For SLiTHER, Nathan and James Gunn did a phone commentary. Nathan was in Canada and James was the US. It was still a great commentary. If they hadn't mentioned it, I wouldn't have thought they were in separate countries.

Maybe we will have several versions of commentary. Joss with these actors. Joss with another set of actors. That would be shiny.

Actually, from what I hear, Nathan demanded so much $$ to participate in the commentary that Joss was forced to drop Sean, Jewel, Alan, Gina, Morena... ...Plus he took the last fruity-oatey bar. Rascal!

I think I was misinterpreted earlier. What I meant was, it would be nice to include a documetary-type featurette about Those Left Behind. I didn't mean they should include the comic itself. The idea was, since the comic trilogy is meant to fill the gap between the Series and the Film, a Featurette About them would be informative, both to us and to those unfamiliar with them.
