** Graphic novel chart position and sales figures

Estimated figures come from ICV2.com.

Sales figures for IDW's Angelverse comic books can be found here.

And an important disclaimer regarding these figures. According to Marc at The Beat:

The numbers above are estimates for comic book sales in the North American direct market, as calculated by ICv2.com according to the chart and index information provided by Diamond Comic Distributors. ICv2.com’s estimates are traditionally known to be somewhat lower than the actual numbers, but they are consistent from month to month, so the trends they show are fairly accurate.

Bear in mind that the figures measure sales to retailers, not customers. Also, these numbers do not include sales to bookstores, newsstands, other mass market retail chains or the United Kingdom. Re-orders are included, so long as they either reached stores in a book’s initial month of release or were strong enough to make the chart again in a subsequent month.

Would be interesting to see the official figures including the international sales.

110,000 is fraking awesome though!
hmm, still don't have my #2, since it was sold out here in frankfurt germany two times and my retailer told me that i have to wait at least another 2 weeks before he gets the reprint :'(
Having in mind that germany is not strictly english speaking ...

Thats an absolutely fantastic number for a non DC/Marvel book.
I'd like to point everyone to this:

Marvel's Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born #2 held up well, with only a 21% drop between first month sales of the first issue and the second.

Only a 21% drop. Just so that people aren't too disappointed if the same happens to Buffy next month--I believe a 30% drop between #1 and 2 is pretty normal.

That caution aside, pretty awesome numbers, eh?

I also think international and book market sales will have been pretty good. I wish publishers announced total numbers.
That's excellent numbers. And yes, I'm presuming there will be a drop between 1 and 2.

Hope the Angel season 6 comic gets somewhere near these numbers:)
open question if whether the drop from 1 to 2 will leave me "two-less."
This gives me ideas for "fun with data" projects in the future.
FYI, this is "Direct Market Sales" as opposed to all sales. This includes Diamond Distributors only. This does not include sales to Borders or Barnes and Noble and I know the big book stores carry individual comics. So it's definitely sold more than 110,000 in the US alone.
