One Thing or Your Mother. Amazon has listed a new Buffy novel by Kirsten Beyer that's available for pre-order. Due out New Years.

Heh, I saw the headline and thought this was going to be about How I Met Your Mother.
Is this the last one? Or are the Buffy novels continuing on?
I remember Nancy Holder saying 2007 will be the last year. But this comes out 2008, granted the first day of 2008, but I'm hoping they will continue, even if it's just a couple a year.
I also thought HIMYM at first take. On second take, this reminds me of the old joke:
A Freudian slip is when you say one thing, but mean your mother.
I hope the novels continue, I assume there is still a readership for them.
It will be the last one, really? it thought that Blackout and Go Ask Malice got a pretty good response. I love them both!
That reminds me, isn't krad's novel now out?
Krad's comes out Tuesday, but I got mine from Amazon yesterday and already read it. It is great! I felt like I was reading a 'lost' Season 3 episode right between The Zeppo and Bad Girls.
The rumor that S&S is ending the franchise has been looming for months now, but so far there's no official confirmation (and I can't get unofficial confirmation either, try as I might). The fact that this book has been scheduled suggests to me that the publisher isn't ready to give up the line quite yet, even though the schedule has been cut back to one book every four months or so.

As for KRAD's book, the official release date is April 24, but publishers almost never stick with their announced date. It's supposedly been in some stores since April 1st, but I've yet to come across a copy.
Well, if commercial interests have gotten "Bored with Buffy," there's always fanfic.

Some of the fanfic out there is quite good (as in publishable quality, folks). I hang out around www.btvschosen.com and www.thekittenboard.com. The former is kinda on hiatus, whereas the latter is still very much alive (but tends to be W&T specific).

There are more fanfic venues out there, too. I'm sure you folks can recommend some.
I have a contact with S&S - I could ask if there's any word on the franchise ending.
I have some items at the Kittenboard.
(no .links to any of the following sites but any good searche ngine can find them.)

The old standby fancfiction.net, now that I've learned to navigate it, has lots of surprsies. The BtVS writers' Guild is also good but theyw ere hacked a while back and many longe rpeices, including mine, are only stumps now. (and I don't have copies of some anymore myself.) Blood Is Not Enough is no longe rbeing updated sicne the mod became a publsihed author but hasd some nice roamntic pieces, including mine. The SLayer's Council is also no longer being updated since the mod passed away but is still up for the moment, including mine. There's the Willow's Promsie website which elads to a decent board of various items. And there are at least three baords, one fairly new, using variations on "Sunnydale Library" as a name, including one new which has one of mine.

I know, pathetic much?
