Pink Raygun, a "webzine for the modern fangirl", presents the first in a series of pieces about Firefly that will examine "the philosophy and theory behind the characters from the point of view of a woman."

Thanks for that link, looks like an interesting site, and it made me all nostalgic for Firefly.
Can never have too many philosophical studies of Whedonism, I say. Thanks for the link.
This was new to me:

During the Battle of Serenity Valley, the gun Mal commandeers has the Weyland-Yutani company logo on the top center of the screen. Weyland-Yutani is the corporation in the Alien movies.

Is she saving the actual review for Part 2? This was more a scene-by-scene description of the show. Some nice trivia though. :)

A couple of small quibbles: I thought we didn't know for sure Earth-That-Was was gone for good -- perhaps it recovered after the ships left. And it's Alleyne, not Allyne.
That's always been in the back of my mind as well - how they never specifically say that nobody was left on Earth-That-Was. Could have made for some interesting story arcs and/or mindblowing cliffhangers in say, Season Four. :)

Maybe it's something they could explore in comic form.
Has me interested, but at the same time I'm never a huge fan of something when it's being promoted on the basis of the sex of the writer. Is that what's supposed to make this particulary compelling? That being said, I will tune in for Part 2.
