(SPOILER) Jane Espenson and Doug Petrie pen "The Batman" season finale. Quite possibly old news, but this is the first I've heard of it (or, er, "The Batman," I'm slightly ashamed to admit).

News about it was posted last week but seeing as the finale is tomorrow morning we may as well have a discussion thread about it. Been a while seen a former Mutant Enemy writers double biller has aired.
Would love to see either writer get more consistent work, although Espenson's name pops up enough that I suppose she's keeping busy...I think she's earned a shot at running her own show by now!
I'm tempted to try this show out (as well as Teen Titans some day), but I haven't finished with Bruce Timm's DC Animated Universe yet (still Batman Beyond Season 2-3, the entirety of Justice League/Unlimited, Mystery of the Batwoman, and The Zeta Project and Static Shock if they ever get around to releasing those last two). So, the more light, fun versions of those superheros aren't priority (also, I just got lent Volumes 3 and 4 of Futurama from a friend, so I'm binging on that this week).

Each season of The Batman and Teen Titans on DVD is very affordable. You can find them for less than $18.00 Canadian. Then again, they're only made up of thirteen episodes each at 22 minutes per episode, so they kinda have to be cheap.
The Batman is nowhere near as good as the old Batman the Animated Series (or Bruce Timm's other shows), but it keeps getting better. My son and I are quite excited about The Joining two-parter.

Edit: Kris, I posted before I saw your message! I guess great minds and all that... I agree about all the BT shows. We are hopeful about the rest of Static Shock, too.

Wow, what *can't* she write brilliantly?!
(I hate to admit I caught that episode while it was playing in the background on my TV yesterday)

Now if we could somehow get her writing on the new Doctor Who!
