Serving Up the Stars..... A positive review of Nathan Fillion's new movie at movie site Cinema Confidential. Waitress seems to be causing quite the buzz.

This weekend, “Spider-Man 3” will open on a record-breaking 4,252 theaters. “Waitress” is slotted to play on only four...This summer, do yourself a favor. Avoid the highly-manufactured, sugary studio concoctions. Instead, take a generous helping of “Waitress,”

Well, now I know why I couldn't find any showtimes when I searched Yahoo movies for a theater near me. I find the writer's advice um, well, mystifying since the writer encouraged me to see it yet didn't mention anything about a wider release. Will do when it comes around!
April,

Link to free screenings. News about Waitress. Events and release dates.

Also had this on there

List of cities and a * when tickets are available for sale. Hope they keep this website up past Mother's Day.

imdb.com USA map of Waitress screenings Only those theaters who use Fandango show up here.

Going to see Spiderman or something else at at theater? Ask management or someone when they are going to show Waitress.

Waitress is opening to a thousand or so cinemas later in May, as I understand it. They're doing a staggered release, like Universal did for Children of Men.

Thanks gossi,

Good news! Hadn't heard anything about a wide release yet.

Bet Universal didn't give out a free gift bag with a Children of Men screening. (Mother's Day Waitress screenings) I wonder if there will be pie in those bags.
danregal,

Great review. LadyLaFae too!

Any talk among the SoCal Browncoats about Waitress?

Looking at imdb.com, looks like the New York Screenings are at two screens in each theater, but the California screenings are showing on only one screen in each theater.

Wish I had checked how many screenings were on Wed. and Thurs. Box Office Mojo shows average per theater...not average per screening which could be a big difference if it was only playing once a day.

Thanks so much for the links and info, everyone. If it opens in 1000 theaters, it should play at one in my town/small city. As for the free screenings, the closest is four hours away on a weekday and I can't get to it. :(

Dr. Mal. Gyno Mal. Takes some getting used to.

The movie looks wonderful!!!
SoCal is having a horseriding shindig and dinner today. I'm going to suggest that everyone go see the movie afterwards if they want to extend the festivities.
Venting first; I absolutely loathe sites that lock you into them so you can't exist with the back button. And I don't appreciate being quasi-ordered to avoid films that might (and none of the major offerings do, it's just the principle of the thing) interest me.

That having been said, this does sound like a good piece of cinematic confectionary; I haven't seen a negative review of it yet. And there actually is a venue or two around here that have the outside chance of showing this. I hope the doctor isn't already married because that would be the trite-and-true way of setting this sort of thing up.
Anonymous1, I love an interwebs research challenge (I also posted this in the other thread where you asked about number of screenings)! According to LA CityBeat.com (thanks, Google!), the two theaters in Los Angeles are the ArcLight Cinemas Hollywood and the Laemmle's Monica 4-Plex and they both have 5 showings a day, since yesterday (Friday), so I'll guess it's since opening day (Wednesday), too.

SoCals know how to shindig! Thanks, danregal
billz,

I'm sort of hoping it had less screenings on Wed. and Thurs. I'm hoping New York added the extra screen after lots of people wanted to see it on Wed. and Thurs. but couldn't.
