Nathan Fillion Gets Award At Newport Beach Film Festival. Our own Captain Tightpants was selected as "Best Actor in a Feature Film", while "Waitress" won the Audience Feature Award.

Shiny. Remember 5/10/2007 The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson Guests Nathan Fillion, Garry Shandling, Roseanne, Miranda Lambert Lots (at least 4) of Nathan Fillion fans are going to be at the taping Thursday afternoon.

If you look at the daily theater averages boxofficemojo daily chart 5/8/2007
Waitress is beating Spiderman now. 2 theaters 2 screens. 2 theaters 1 screen.
That is awesome!

I cannot wait to see this.
That's great! I just saw the film and he really is terrific. He plays such an odd man, but keeps it very realistic. So many actors play these kinds of characters so over-the-top, they are totally unbelievable.
I'm thrilled to see Nathan Fillion getting such praise and that this film is really connecting with audiences and critics. I hadn't been feeling the trailer so much -- for me, the Keri Russell character doesn't come off as terribly likable or as someone to root for. With all this good press, I'm assuming that's just the way the trailer was cut, and that there's a lot more for me to love here beyond Nathan, if/when Waitress starts showing local-like. Looking forward to it. Congrats to all on the festival wins.

Waitress got a glowing review from longtime Washington DC film critic Arch Campbell a couple of nights ago during his segment of the WJLA evening news. He gave it 3-1/2 out of 4 stars and recommended that people make the effort to find it when it's released here on May 11.
Awards are good. Jobs are better. But the award will give him higher visibility in 'Wood. I'd love to see him get out of his Fox contract and just do films. He deserves it after putting in 14 years of hard labor. You know, I never knew who Fillion was until Firefly. I don't watch soaps, I never saw the Pizza Guys series or anything else he did. He's just a delightful person and a good actor who will only get better.

We know Joss and James Gunn will hire him again if possible, but Scorsese, Coen Brothers (how good would Nathan have been in O Brother, Where Art Thou?), Christopher Nolan, Sam Raimi, Paul Thomas Anderson! Come on guys, this actor Nathan Fillion is available!

Waitress screenings switch date to Friday 5/11/2007
Waitress is finally screening at more than 4 theaters

Whoo-hoo! It's a start.
Just caught the first TV ad I've seen for Waitress, it says "staring Keri Russel" & didn't even mention Nathan. What's that about? But hey, it's being advertised on TV, so that's a good thing.
