Summer Glau Talks Sarah Connor Chronicles. Summer discusses naked fight scenes in The Terminator TV show and if she'll be back on The 4400.

For a prima ballerina nee' SF action hero, she is so not a prima donna. I'm glad Summer has good friends to help her stay grounded as she gifts us all with so much fine entertainment.

SCC is one of the very few new shows I am interested in. The 4400 as well.

I haven't seen all of her appearances on The Unit, and assume she is done with her role as Crystal. Does anyone have confirmation of that?

Summer's character is a terminator? Summer's character is a freaking terminator! That is so freaking cool that I am going to use the word freaking three more freaking times. Am I the only one who didn't know that?

To be honest, I wasn't interested in the show at all until now. I thought she was going to play the high school friend of the main character, which is ok, better to have her on screen than not... but being a terminator, she's going to get to be the one who kicks people's ass every episode. And the terminator character is always cooler than the rest. Spock was cooler than anyone else, so was Data... the not quite human characters tend to be the standouts.

Woohoo Summer! I am definitely going to watch this now.

OMG, how beautiful does Summer look in the photo with that article? I mean that in a very empowering and profeminist way, esp. since I'm looking forward to watching her kicking ass week after week. And to the people who bitch that she's too small to be an asskicker (not Whedonesquers, just anonymous interweb posters)? Dudes, how big or strong do you think you have to be for your foot traveling at someone's face at high speed to break their gorram nose, yo? ;-)

Everybody, even Joss [Whedon] - When I told Joss I was up for the role, he said, "God, it's a movie that changed film. It's a really special and important movie." And I hadn't seen it! So when I got the role, my dad went out and got all the movies for me and we watched them together.

I love that Joss managed to get a mention in there. But poor Summer, having to sit throughT3. She should definitely have stopped at Terminator 2.

Um, I haven't seen The Terminator either.

Damnit, where's my rotten fruit and so forth when I need it ;). It's a great film QuoterGal and though the T800 is a very 'Arnie' role (not a lot of talking, obligatory "check the pecs" scene etc.) it's well worth watching. T2 is, if anything, even better. Linda Hamilton famously went all the way on the training (part of her character's arc is that she becomes more machine like to fight the machines) and she's in amazing shape, not sexy (to me) but ... potent is probably the word, like a caged tiger.

T3 had its moments and there's clearly a lot of money on the screen but it was a bit forced, like the studio had a list of things that made the first 2 good and then said "That but bigger" to the writer.

I'll be checking this out mos-def (who's bad ? ;). And naked fight scenes ? Man, they'd have to film that carefully, imagine if your coverage was insufficient because of, well, insufficient 'coverage' ? ;)

Summer Glau continues her one-woman domination of science fiction

That would be what I would want if I had a chance to live life over again!

My 14-year-old son made an observation that there are no shows on now with strong women in the lead - that all the action/sci-fi shows and comedies we watch have men in the lead roles. He hasn't seen "Bones" or those shows with the women who see dead people (and we don't like "Ugly Betty"), but since Buffy left the air, we have seen fewer and fewer shows with women in the lead. Ensemble shows ("Heroes," "Boston Legal," "Lost," "The Office," etc.) all have more men than women in their casts.

So I hope "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" and "Bionic Woman" succeed.

With all this buzz, I wonder if Fox, will change it's mind, actually debut this late fall, like November.

QuoterGal--You should see 1 & 2. Linda Hamilton was pretty kick-ass when there weren't many kick-ass women around. (Especially moms!) And Arnie was much more entertaining on screen than he is in Sacramento.

Really looking forward to seeing Summer in this, although I have that feeling that this is going to be one of those shows that leaves me sighing over squandered opportunities. But hopefully I'm wrong.

The annoying thing about that is the huge double standard; those same people won't bat an eyelash when Rambo or Bruce Willis gun down fifty people with one bullet.

Yay Summer! I probably would have not bothered with the show without her, though I love the original Terminator. I like the second, but for some reason it's the first one I always go back to.

I know I'm being a prude but really I justs ee no point to all this skin on screen. I mean, we all have bodies, we know what they are, so we don't need to be enlightened all the time. (Yes, I'm a Baby Boomer, Downslide Half, and no I don't respect my egneration and what we, especially the older Core half did to entertainment, manners, or the law, sorry.)

The being naked part is integral to the story if it occurs at the time she arrives from the future. All Terminators show up naked. If she showed up clothed, the show would be ridiculed beyond belief.

QG, let me add my voice to the list of people who say the first 2 Terminators are worth it, Gubernator or no. The strength and self-sacrifice of Sarah Connor is so inspiring. She is far more powerful and awe-inspiring than Arnold ever was or could be, esp. since his character is created to be strong, but Sarah has to discover and nurture her own strength from within. Hero! ;-)

Also, I agree that if this is a Terminator story, the T's first appearance has to be nude. In the first movie, it was all dudes doing the nudity, so there's not sexism in it. Also, I'm sure it won't be showing too much -- this IS TV, yo. (Well, come to think of it, it's Fox, which is only kind-of TV. *coughcancellationmonsterscough*) ;-)

This is very exciting! Summer Glau, as a Terminator in an on-going series. I always admired the Sarah Connor character, and this series may have great potential.

Oh, wait. It's on Fox.

That means its pretty much guaranteed to be murdered by the Senior Partners if it's any good at all.

Oh, alright, dammit, already. I'll rent T1 and *gulp* watch it.

And I'll prolly have to watch Summer in this show at least once because... well, it's the highly-talented Summer and she's slinging folk around again. And as we famously know, it really never does get old.

(Seriously, thanks to you who took the time to tell me I must watch these movies - your recommendations mean a lot. I will hide myself in a pile of blankets and watch 'em.)

I get the impression that John and his mother will go on the run once the Terminators start showing up. They're not going to hang around waiting to be killed.

According to the trailer and things I've read, Cameron, John and Sarah jump forward in time to 2006 and arrive butt naked. I would guess that when we first see Cameron she'll be in high school student mode, so that her ass-kicking Terminator-ness will be a surprise (to anyone who hasn't seen the previews).
