This year's Comic-Con has a lot for Whedon Fans. The biggest day will be Saturday the 28th with the Dark Horse panel on Joss, but that will be up against the "Sarah Connor Chronicles" with Summer Glau.

However, as mentioned, there will be a showing of "Once More With Feeling", along with previews of "Chuck" with Adam Baldwin. The whole schedule has been released.

Yes, but that was the sneak-peek schedule. This is the full schedule, which includes info about Summer's panel.

As for me, I'm leaning towards Joss' panel. As much as I adore Summer, she tends to be somewhat quiet on panels, and I'm not as interested in her fellow cast members as I am in her.

So, Jossir, here's a plan: get two iPhones and give Summer one and text-heckle her while you're both on your respective panels. All of your hecklings will then say "Sent from my iPhone" -- though I think they should offer a heckle-option.

I'm so helpful. I do not work for Apple. I love our iPhone. Summer should never be scheduled at ComicCon at the same time as Joss. Why can't I find the British pound sign on my keyboard?

Why not just combine the two panels and have one big bumper panel heckle-fest? Forget answering questions and just spend the entire time throwing insults and toy dinosaurs at one another.

Why can't I find the British pound sign on my keyboard?

You must have one of those cheap knock-offs that seem to be popular abroad (or a "US keyboard" as i've seen them called). Bet the inverted comma's in the wrong place too.

(in Windows, holding 'Alt' then typing '156' - without quotes but with NumLock - on the numeric keypad should get you a '£' QG. Just the character unfortunately, it's not a magical money making machine ;)

I like the text heckling idea. Are the iPhones video phones too ? Joss could go on a walkabout and beam the iHeckle back to his panel.

£ symbol works, thank you Saje! Now I can cuss like Joss, because I was sorry to see that I would have to miss seeing Summer at the Sarah Connor Chronicles panel. There will have to be many similar sacrifices/choices to make: should I see Clive Owens in his 'The Golden Compass' panel, or Neil Gaiman (I'm going with the latter, writers usually have more to say)? And I noticed that the wonderful OMWF sing-along will be at the same time as the Warren Ellis panel (why is he scheduled so late? Only Vampires should be up that late!). It is going to be one exciting extended weekend.

edited to add: I am so sorry Joss, it looks like your fans are not going to be raising Warren Buffett level donations for breaking bread with you (he got, what? about $650k? Surely both the Blue Sun Corp AND Wolfram & Hart must have been in the bidding!).

I've always loved that interview - think it might've been one of my first whedonesque-y online reads. It's got the infamous "Remains of the Clone!" crack, as well as this, one of the best Hechtian-sortof-interchanges about Hollywood ever:

JW: I find that when you read a script, or rewrite something, or look at something that's been gone over, you can tell, like rings on a tree, by how bad it is, how long it's been in development.

NG: Yes. It really is this thing of executives loving the smell of their own urine and urinating on things. And then more execs come in, and they urinate. And then the next round. By the end, they have this thing which just smells like pee, and nobody likes it.

Here's the link to Neil Gaiman's blog quoted above. Were Neil Gaiman and Joss Whedon going to be on the same panel just because they are fans of each others work or were they going to announce some sort of future collaboration?

I imagine that they are just fans, but with Neil Gaiman getting involved in quite a number of movies lately, it's not out of the realm of possibility for them to work on a movie together. Or something more realistic, but still wishful thinking, the possibility of Neil Gaiman doing a story arc for the Buffy Season 8 comic. :)

I think I nearly choaked over the fact that it was mentioned that there was going to be a Neil Gaiman/Joss Whedon panel. Then I did a double take a realized that it wasn't happening..... *sigh* probably my two favourite writers in the world.....Gaiman writing a Buffy comic would be absolute heaven.
