10 questions for Joss Whedon. (NYT, reg poss. req.)

"...the most controversial thing we ever had on Buffy was a hamburger and chicken sandwich."

Joss could do stand up. And he'd get on great with Eddie Izzard.

Interesting to see that what some of us speculated on is actually true: (on actors influencing their characters development) "Giles’ character became hipper because Tony was not a stuffy guy. Sarah’s became more thoughtful and intelligent. Buffy also became a little bit closed off from the other characters, in the same way that a star is kind of separated from an ensemble, so we dealt with the idea of the isolation of the Slayer, of the person who has to lead."

Of all the Joss interviews this week, I think this one is the best. And I'm glad for his insight into Buffy's father.
This one was created by fans of the show. A couple of weeks ago, the moderator of the NYT Forums, who is big Buffy fan, arranged an interview of sorts with Joss. The members of the NYT Board were asked to submit questions, and then they voted on the final slate.
That's one of the most thoughtful and interesting interviews I've read for a long a time, both in terms of the questions asked as well as the answers Joss gave to them. Particularly the parts about the concept he has in his head for where Season Seven was intended to go. I actually think I might understand what the season's been all about better having read this interview.

That is the worst picture of Aly I've ever seen.

Oh yeah, i liked the interview.
Good interview. Good questions -- fans always ask the best ones.

Joss' comments on "Normal Again" gave me a new perspective on that episode that I hadn't considered. (Many) layers are a good thing. I appreciate that episode much more now.
