Watched the thing with a plate of curry in me lap. Didn't like it. Storywise I could get into it, but wow was that some weird editing. Scenes constantly cut off right on the end of a sentence (could be choppiness of the mpeg, not sure) - all the jokes felt forced. Also, quite a bit of dialogue sounded like it was added on later on.

I was looking forward to the scene in the script where Giles and Wood are smoking funny cigarettes. It was cut. Of course.

I'm not a B/A shipper, but those early scenes had the best flow and the most genuine feel to me.

... so when does Angel S5 start?

At least the curry was great.

What's up with the death of Spike?????
I thought he was going over to Angel for next season, and that he wasn't the one that was going to die according to "reliable sources" (but you can never be too sure...)
Could someone clear this up for me?

yes he's going to be on angel, he's in the cast list right under david's name on the WB site, but that doesn't mean he can't "die" on buffy. people come back from their so called deaths all the time in the buffyverse.

some folks are speculating that he will turn up human on angel, fulfilling the shansu prophecy (or however it's spelled, heh) which most of us assumed would happen to angel at some point. dunno. will be fun to see how they handle it :-)

I'm so disappointed, I don't really know what to say. Why did they have to kill Anya, and do it so abruptly while Wood gets stabbed and lives? (...never cared much for Wood...)
The whole episode felt kind of rushed, like they where trying to tie up too many loose ends in approximately 40 mins. time.
Whedon has got some explaining to do... ;-)

I'll try to explain. First, Trogdor was created. Then he evolved into an arcade game. And finally, he became a legend.

It wasn't bad, I just feel that Spike sacrificing himself and ultimately becoming the hero who saves the day sort of goes against what Buffy was all about, y'know, girl power and all that? And I was really annoyed by the way the just glossed over Anyas death - it took me a second to realize that it had been her who was sliced in half since they spent so much bloody time on Wood limping around with a flesh wound. Shmeh. I'm just gonna pretend that Buffy ended at Season 5, with OMWF as a nice epilogue :)

I thought it went rather well for trying to tie up some loose ends, leave others and create a few new ideas.

It's still steeping in the back of my mind, but overall, I'm really happy with the way it ended.

Joss has said that, it's not even close to being the end of life in the buffyverse, this is the perfect springboard.

I'm bummed about knowing Spike is coming back, not knowing would've made that better ... he is coming back isn't he?

I imagine I'm in the minority, but I'm glad Andrew is still around. Between Anya and Andrew, I will miss Anya less, provided we get to see either again. I was surprised nobody else died.

It wasn't the perfect episode, but there's no way it could've been. However, I think it was still very good.
