Equality Now Annual Report for 2006. Browncoats of New York City and London Browncoats organizers are pictured. The caption mentions that last year globally we raised over $60,000. Go Browncoats!

The reference, of course, is to last year's (well, this year's report about last year) 2006 annual report from Equality Now, linked off the linked page.

Joss is on the front page of the report. And rightly so. He is also credited for "creating a vision of equality that helps transform the traditional prejudices of young men and women". Being a (once) young man who grew up with Buffy The Vampire Slayer, they get a massive 'Yuhu' from me on that one.
The 2006 Browncoat-related donors - that I know of - are "The Browncoats," "Canít Stop the Serenity," and "Done the Impossible, LLC" and it's pretty neato to see them listed on there. I'm sure also there will be more names and companies listed, as well as the $100,000 + Joss' dinner check for this year, when they publish this year's... next year.

It was also nifty to see these names on their Advisory Council: Alanis Morissette, Gloria Steinem, Meryl Streep, Rose Styron, as well as these folks among the donors: Governor Mario M. Cuomo, Jane Fonda, Joanne Woodward, the Hollywood Reporter, Ashley Judd, Lifetime Television, Governor Eliot Spitzer, Twentieth Century Fox, and Universal Studios.

Well done, everyone - especially Joss, who brought us there, and Equality Now - they are active in countless tough issues that affect women worldwide. I'm proud to be a part of the fandom that has adopted this group, because of Joss' influence, as their beneficiary...

(I always read every name on these lists - it can be both surprising and illuminating to see who gives what to whom...)

ETA: Oh, and of course, Joss is listed among the "Leadership Circle" of the donors... I forgot to mention...

I'm trying to think of a word that describes the incredible efforts the Browncoats poured their hearts and souls in making this happen. There are no words, only hope and love.

I, for one, can only give my most honorable salute. I'm so proud to know you as my friends. Outstanding job!!

Wait 'til next year, we'll do even better.
The cases highlighted in the report are a good reminder of why events like CSTS are so important.
This is a beautiful thing and makes me ridiculously proud to be a part of this fandom *sniffle*.
