(SPOILER) Buffy and Serenity goodies from Dark Horse in November. First look at the variant cover for Buffy #8, info about the Buffy Omnibus Vol 3 and a lovely pic of the Reaver Ship ornament.

Wow, the variant is almost as intense as the regular. Great stuff.

The same cannot be said for that Omnibus cover, however...

And seeing any more of these ornaments creates a twinge of sadness in me, because my Serenity ornament fell from the top of my TV and lost one of her wings a few months ago. :-(

Sorry to hear about your Serenity ornament UnpluggedCrazy - perhaps you could create a Serenity reconstruction diorama, like at the end of the movie. I was going to say how much I enjoy looking at my ornament, changing its position so I get different angle from time to time, but that seems a bit tactless now.

I think the Buffy #8 variant cover is pretty marvelous too.

Why not go the extra mile and create a solar system wide totalitarian regime so that you can then defeat them and have them help you rebuild it UpC ?
If I get the iconography (from the Greek for "stuff" and "to look at") from the two BtVS covers, there's the the knife from Season Three (much-appreciated gift from the mayor, used by Buffy to lure him to his blasty doom after nearly killing Faith), an evocation-in-reverse of the climactic fight scene between Faith-in-Buffy and Buffy-in-Faith from Season Four's "Who Are You?" plus, for good measure, Joyce's "Harlot" lipstick that Faith liked in that and the preceding ep.

Going deep, are we, guys?
This gives us one more month to get Serenity: Better Days #1, as promised, before 2007 comes to an end.
Have we gotten a release date yet for Better Days #1?
Good list, Pointy. When I saw the main cover though my very first thought was of "Bad Girls" and Buffy's near-drowning there. Drowning is a recurring theme for slayers, of course: Buffy in "Prophesy Girl" and Faith in "End of Days"; very baptismal, taking place as it does when both girls accept their mission. And Buffy in "Bad Girls" experiences a bit of an initiation into Faith's world in that scene, too....
