Possession trailer. The trailer for Sarah Michelle Gellar's upcoming movie Possession, formerly called Addicted.

[ edited by zeitgeist on 2007-09-07 22:47 ]

It's a fairly long trailer, about three minutes. It looks pretty good, although a couple of people have left comments about SMG only making suspense films. She's made other movies, such as Southland Tales, Suburban Girl, and The Air I Breathe, but only Tales has a release date.
I think this looks really good. Not as suspensy as Grudge. I hate scarey movies, but this one I can handle.
When you need someone to make the impossible completely believable on a gut level, you call Sarah Michelle. Then you sit back, watch, and marvel.
Ooooh! I think it looks good, but it seems like one of those trailers where you no longer need to see the film because there's so much of the film shown. Looking forward to it!
Ooh, Lee Pace! This film looks really good. I can't wait to see it. Glad they changed the title, 'Addicted' makes no sense.

What's the release date?

The trailer actually really impressed me which I wasn't expecting, although I do think that it showed far too much. I think Sarah really has a talent for making films like these work, and I think it's great that it seems to be slightly more psychologically, emotionally and character based rather than a standard modern horror film that consists of ridiculous levels of gore or cheap tricks to provide suspense.
Damn, I love Lee Pace. This is a super-cast to me.
but it seems like one of those trailers where you no longer need to see the film because there's so much of the film shown

That's exactly how I felt too.

The movie looks okay. As an SMG fan, I'm a bit disappointed, in that it looks like something I could find on Lifetime or some other predictable cable network movie and not as interesting as what the summary of the film first made me want out of it. But maybe the full film more interesting.
This isn't the film of Sarah's I'm most excited about ('The Air I Breathe' and 'Suburban Girl' top that list), but I'll still be checking it out when it opens.
It looks really good to me. Even if the trailer is giving away a little to much, it does make it seem as if Sarah has good chemistry with the 2 actors. I'm looking forward to it.
Wow, I can't wait to see this movie. Couldn't agree more Pointy. Sarah brings it every time.
Yep stopped watching when the "Possession" aspect became overt and that was only half-way through the trailer. Lee Pace in a bit of a departure by the looks of things. And boy, SMG gives great cry.

Not a bad idea, I like suspense movies (aren't all movies "suspense" movies though, or why watch ?) or psychological thrillers or whatever they're called this week. I also thought 'The Return' had its moments (and in fact ).

'Southland Tales' and 'The Air I Breathe' are still the films of SMG's i'm keenest to see though.
Hm, when I heard this was originally a Korean movie I immediately thought the premise was going to play out more like a quirky romantic drama, something like that Nicole Kidman movie where her dead husband apparently gets reincarnated into a nine year old or something. I can't tell if this version is going to be more of a suspense thriller, or if the ads are just misrepresenting it. (I'm actually sometimes into horror movies, but I can't tell if the squelching noise whenever they zoomed in on a hand in the road was off-putting since it's scary or since it's ridiculous.)

In any case, SMG and Lee Pace look like they're doing good jobs so I may want to watch it in spite of the ad. (I can't take any variations of the phrase "yet feels so good" seriously.)
I'm just smiling ear-to-ear 'cause Sarah is really proving her chops. The girl has talent to play whatever role she wishes and she's marvelous. Looking forward to this film.
Hey, look, it's Jimmy Olsen!

Rumor had it wrong that the ST trailer would be out this weekend. Apparently it's still being made. Arg.

I'm with everybody on SMG's acting chops, but based on this trailer I wish she'd stop whispering her lines. Seems like I read somewhere that she doesn't like the sound of her voice. Who does? We all sound better in our heads. Your voice is fine, speak up.
I think this trailer looks great. I loved the original Korean film (it wasn't a horror film, but more of a suspenseful drama). And SMG + Lee Pace? I'm totally there.
SMG's such a terrific actress, I'd really like to see in worthy movies. Ditto Hannigan; ditto, for that matter, Gilian Anderson. TV resumé really shouldn't be a minus anymore.

I like her voice, the slight "crack" reminds me a bit of Katherine Hepburn.
filops, Gillian Anderson was very good in The House of Mirth, an adaptation of the Edith Wharton novel.
