I love seeing ASH in anything but I'm not sure I quite get the film. Who is the man in the hospital?

Lioness: If you watch it closely, the film gives you clues. She's attracted to young men on motorcycles. She also goes to regularly see a young man who is immobilized in a hospital bed. People who ride motorcycles sometimes find they are "donor-cycles." I therefore infer the young man in the hospital was her lover who got into a motorcycle accident and eventually died.
