(SPOILER) That Buffy #10 variant cover in full. It's been previously glimpsed at here but a much bigger version is now online. The cover features Robin Balzer (the wife of the winner of Dark Horse's 'How Buffy Changed My Life' contest).

This might be the first time I prefer the variant cover over Jo Chen's still amazing work.

Yep, it looks very nice (the Chen one's also lovely though, as usual. Is it just me or is there a bit of a Peter Pan and Wendy theme to it ?).

I've a feeling though that the variant may pack a bigger emotional punch than Chen's, once we've read the issue that is.

Since this is tagged spoiler, I read somewhere this one is writ by Whedon and is nearly all painful dialogue between Willow and Buffy.

This alternate cover is very nice looking, and I particularly like Buffy's expression in Jo Chen's cover. Looking at that, I kinda guessed this issue would involve emotional suffering.

Talking is good. Dark is good. I hope there is some excellent dark humor as well. I suppose I shouldn't even think there might not be-- Buffy's quippage seems resilient in most emotional conditions.

I see it too - Willow with the Peter Pan look, although in the real thing, as you'll recall, Wendy flew on her own. Maybe a bit of Superman/Lois Lane as well.
