Fox announces debut date for Summer Glau's "Sarah Connor Chronicles".
It'll premiere January 14th, right before the third hour of "24" two-day premiere. On a related note, EW list Summer as one of the top 22 "Butt-Kicking Babes".
Ooops... additional comments correction.
The Sarah Connor Chronicles will not be competing against "Heroes" and a lot of comedies. Instead we'll see River Vs. Jayne Vs. Willow. As Summer's show will be in the same time slot as "Chuck" and "How I Met Your Mother".

And for everyone thinking "Fox will cancel it after two weeks", it depends on the writers strike. If they strike next month, and are still out in January then networks will be very reluctant to cancel shows since they will be short of material. If they have five or ten episodes already shot then they will show them, unless the show is really bad.

I didn't expect to like it but now I can't wait to see more of her...

I would have though so too, but the most recent episode of Chuck saw a fairly big ratings increase (from a 4.5 to a 5.0). On that basis I think both Journeyman and Life will be up for the chop before Chuck.
If the SCC is good (the original pilot was reasonable if not spectacular in my opinion) then I think it might stand a chance, even on FOX. With the Terminator name behind it, its got a pretty big hook to draw in a large audience for the pilot (something that, for example, Drive wasn't able to manage). So then it will just be a case of hanging on to as many viewers as possible.

Yes but will
the poor man's Sky OneVirgin One pick it up for the UK like they did for Summer's show.Simon | October 17, 10:03 CET
Hey don't knock Virgin One, it might even be in Widescreen (gasp) by the time SCC is on!

Or is it just because of FOX's typical cancel-o-rama...?

I've said it before and I'll say it again - even if TSCC was being put out by another network, I still wouldn't watch it. I no longer care about John and Sarah Connor's mission to save humanity.

I would say the show is available on bittorrent.
But I won't. < Faith as Buffy >Because it's wrong.< /Faith >

Also more OT good for Summer and she deserves the list fully. She kicks major ass and is so graceful and heart breaking doing it.

Though in this case that's a bit like saying it after Adam et al have made Christian shish-kebabs out of the God fearin' folk of Sunnydale ;).
(the version - allegedly ;) - available via Bittorrent is apparently going to have major scenes reshot so it remains to be seen how close to the final aired pilot it'll be - there's a big shoot-up in a school which was considered insensitive in the wake of Virginia Tech. Wasn't bad though, all in all)
