Amy Adams to star in new Julia Child film with Meryl Streep. Adams lands the lead in the new film based on a popular book about a secretary who endeavors to cook all 524 recipes from Child's "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" and blogs about her (mis)adventures.

Oh, I've heard about this blog/book! I meant to track it down but then forgot all about it. It should make a pretty good movie.

I think Amy Adams is well on her way to superstardom. :) (I can't wait for Enchanted!)
How is this Whedon-related? Was she in something Joss did? Because I don't remember it if she was.
She was Tara's Evil Cousin.
And Joss says she's "a sweetie".
Aha, now I remember.
Since there's a blog in the plot I assume Julia Child herself isn't a character? Just as well, with John Candy gone there'd be no good choice to play her anyway.

Seriously tho, Amy Adams, Jason Behr, Persia White, 1 or 2 of the 12th graders from "The Pack," possibly (depending on how much you liked The Gravedancers I suppose) Megahn Perry, just interesting how Dr. Joss's magic touch on picking future names even extended to the one-shot guests, both major and bit.
I didn't remember Tara's evil cousin... I thought the Whedon link came from Meryl Streep becoming famous after introducing Mr Whedon at a ceremony.
Tara's evil cousin was in "Family", season five, written and directed by Joss. She wanted Tara to give up her "evil" witchy ways and come home to take care of the men in the family. Evil indeed! ;)
OMG I am such a geek, really loved that ep.
Meryl Streep is playing Julia Child... think of the fun. :)
This is funny because in the book she frequently mentions her Buffy fan love. :D So even if there wasn't the whole Amy Adams factor, I'd consider it Whedon-related because of the sheer number of Buffy shout outs.

(Which is actually why I read the book, my mom was reading it and once I glanced over at the page and saw the words 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' I became interested, lol. Hope they keep that in the movie!)
Gotta be "Julie/Julia" (or was it "Julia/Julie"?). I followed it when she was just an online blog, and was jealous/annoyed that she got going on the idea before I did. *wry smile*

In any case, although it'll probably be an interesting film, I'd rather see a movie following Julia Child's fascinating life overall.
Amy Adams is also a semiregular from seasons 1-2 of The Office (as Jim's shallow girlfriend). And she was incredible, incredible, incredible in the film Junebug. And Meryl Streep does, as Jon Stewart recently said, bring the hotness. Looking forward to it.
Yup, the screenplay is adapted from Julie and Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen. I had no idea about the Buffy references in the book, as it's still in my "To Read" pile. How fun!
