Greg Edmonson's Music from "Uncharted". Firefly soundtrack composer Greg Edmonson makes "Uncharted" music available for download.

I just got email from Greg!

Hi My friends,

I recently finished scoring a video game (my first) for Sony. The game is called "Uncharted" and really was a lovely experience. As "Firefly" fans they encouraged me to use the same palette and I do so love mixing ethnic stuff with the orchestra!

We recorded at Skywalker Ranch (George Lucas's facility) in San Francisco. I thought that I would post a couple of the themes (as mp3's) just on the outside chance that anyone was interested!

Feel free to pass them along (with Sony's blessing)--I think that the links are good for a few days. More to follow. Thanks.

Greg Edmonson

I've added Greg's "Uncharted" music to the Browncoat radio station Can't Take the Sky as well. :) I've also lately added some of the "Sing a Song of Saffron" songs, an excellent recording of "The Sailor's Wife" (the folk piece that River's Dance was based on), and the Haydn string quartet that Mal and Inara dance to in the "Shindig" episode. Enjoy!
Very nice; Many thanks to Greg for making these available. A little more Orchestral than I expected, but wonderfully Shiny, as always! :)

I sometimes listen to Greg's music (and more) on Can't Take the Sky Radio; It'll be nice to hear this there. http://www.live365.com/stations/julesong

Lovely stuff. And how sweet of him to offer it to us this way.
Any chance Sony will release a soundtrack CD?
I didn't ask about a soundtrack DVD - I'll do that. :)
Thanks so much for posting this... I knew of Greg's work on 'Uncharted', but thought the only way I was ever going to hear it was to go out and buy a PS3.

I love both tracks- big props to Sony for allowing them to be heard. 'Drake's Elegy' was my favorite of the two, and makes me weep once again imagining what might have been had Greg gotten to score Serenity.

It was interesting to hear the French horns in 'Nate's Theme'- I can't remember if it was Joss or Greg who mentioned something in one of the commentaries about French horns being the palette of Star Trek type sci-fi soundtracks, which were much more formal than the Firefly 'Verse.

Greg Edmonson has a talent that I enjoy greatly and that I want to continue to support financially. I just wish there was more product to buy! There are days when I wish I could win the lottery and say here: Go and compose another album from the realm of Firefly. (I'm sure that I'm not alone in dreaming that little dream...)
3 more tracks from Greg released today (and re-links of the original two tracks that had exceeded their download limit)

Per Greg: "Please pass this on to anyone who might want to check it out."

Missed this earlier in all the Purple Kerfuffle.

Stuck 'em on my MP3 player for listening to on the way home. Very generous of Mr Edmonson but I can't say i'm surprised - every interview and account of him i've read shows him to be a very decent, self-effacing fella (and we already know how talented he is, witness 'Firefly' score, The).

(very generous of Sony too which, I must admit, does surprise me ;)
