WB releases complete info for the release of Justice League: The New Frontier. This new direct-to-DVD release features the voice of David Boreanaz as Hal Jordan (Green Lantern) and will be released on February 26, 2008.

Just finished Justice League Unlimited last week (and with that, the entire Batman: The Animated Series/Superman: The Animated Series/Batman Beyond/Justice League/JLU franchise). Though this new film has still been done by showrunner Bruce Timm and some of his people from those shows, it isn't in-continuity with all that and is really its own thing (like if Joss decided to do a single Buffy movie but recast it and altered origins). It'll be interesting to see how it turns out though. I love the painted-looking cover to the 2-disc special edition.

And I love direct-to-DVD so much. From the Marvel "Ultimate" line of films, to the Hellboy animes (what I've seen of them at least) to the Batman animated stuff that fit in between the various seasons and shows, to continuations of favorites debuting on DVD (Futurama's return this week on brand new DVD). Hugely awesome phenomenon that I hope continues to see growth.
