He always has this awesome stare on his face. LOL.

Bailey is quite a good looking man in that chisled perfection kind of way and I wish him the best in the world and if he can do the accent I am all for it, although Gambit should be way younger than either of these guys and shouldn't appear in a Wolverine solo flick but that's neither here nor there.

We are at a disadvantage when it comes to predicting how they will make Gambit fit into the Wolverine "story," since the movies in no way follow the actual comic books, it will be interesting to see how they make it work.

Leading up to the events of X-Men, X-Men Origins: Wolverine – written by David Benioff (The Kite Runner, Troy) – tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe.
I heard Gambit being connected to this film for a while. There has also been recent talk that Ryan Reynolds is going to play Deadpool in this film too.

Gosh, just about any Josh would fit the bill ;)

I'd be less surprised (and more excited) by an X-23 appearance, who else but Summer Glau would be perfect for that part (I'll take any chance I can to mention this in case the producers happen to be reading).

Pardon the rantiness here, but Rogue got effed over the entire trilogy. If they actually would have attempted to include her real storyline, it would have made the movies that much more interesting. [/rant over]
Sorry about that, but growing up, Rogue was one of the first strong female characters I identified with. Her treatment in the films is a pet peeve of mine.
And I do know that just because he's from the south (I believe he's actually from Georgia) doesn't mean he can play a Cajun, theMidnighter. But like you said, it's the attitude. And it seems like I remember that he was being considered for the role at one point, back when they were still thinking about putting Gambit in the third film.

Southern. Charming. Starts out sweet and goes sour.
Given Wolverine's slow aging, we might be seeing other immortal-ish types.

I don't think Tyler Mane has died; at least there's no info online about it. The character of Sabretooth is now dead though; maybe that's what the previous poster meant.

Rogue definitely got a hardcore raw deal - they gave her a screwed up version of Jubilee's story. I gotta saw though...for as many good things as Brian Singer did for those movies - he failed seriously in that respect.
All in all - though Sawyer'd be a great Gambit...I don't think it'd be good in this movie. It'd be good if we got some old school Weapon X badies.

IMO, Bailey Chase was a really bad actor in Buffy. It was in fact cringe worthy. Possibly he's grown some?

And yes, rogue got stiffed. they've portrayed her as much younger, just starting out, and she can't fly and isn't super strong, and there's been no reference at all to her mother situation at all. Gambit and Rogue just go together. It's funny, I always see Gambit as being played by a young Ted Danson, but I think Josh Holloway would be a good fit too.
I'm not quite sure how Gambit would fit into Wolvie's story, and from memory, Didn't Gambit start out on Magneto's side, then switch to team X?

As for Gambit, his introduction to the X-Men (Uncanny X-M #266) came about the same time that I stopped collecting the book . . . now I feel really old. ;-(
