Celebrate 'Y: The Last Man' with Brian K. Vaughan and Joss Whedon. To mark the last issue of Brian's epic saga, 'Y: The Last Party' will be held at Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles on February 8th. Joss will be the keynote speaker at the event and all proceeds will go to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund.

I've been reading this series through trade paperbacks and am currently on Volume Three, so I have quite a bit to go. Vaughan is a great writer, and so far, his work is the only stuff I've enjoyed nearly as much as Buffy or Angel.
Awesome. Great series, great writer, big party, great cause!
Man I'd love to go to that.

They should release a big coffee table book with all the Y covers. Amazing work.
I hope someone from here (apart from BKV and Joss obviously) gets to go.
I'm thinking of going. I hope the VIP tickets last long enough for me to make up my mind.
Got my tickets! My company has done work with CBLDF in the past, so I am always happy to go out and support them. Joss is just the icing on the cake.
I'll consider it but, truth is, I'm not much of a Y fan . . . read the first 2 TPBs but, dunno, just didn't set my world on fire. Love *all* BKV's other works. And it does look like a great party. CBLDF does excellent work, and Charles B is a cool guy, especially for an attorney . . . ;-)
Its no Sandman, but I really like it. I really like all of BKV's work, as you say.
On the other hand, it's still better than 90% of comic books out there. I think I just read too much hype about it beforehand.

Anyways, I secured a ticket. :-)
Sweet, you will officially be our proxy at the party ;)
Well, if they weren't sold out before I bought my one ticket, they are now. I emailed them since I was having trouble with the cart and they said there was just one left. That was quick :)
I really love Y the Last Man, I've been reading it quite a while (I think I'm complete now, but there may be a few issue's gap...) and I think it might be my favorite of all of BKV's work. I'm really glad that Joss is helping celebrate this, and I just wish I could go!
I wonder what a Y: the Last Man tv show produced by Joss and Brian would be like?

I assume you mean aside from awesome and mind-blowing?
That sounds fantastic. I admit i haven't read the whole series, only volume 1, but it is, without a doubt, amazing.

I must really catch up. it's too good not to.
Besides, it's not like there's anything good to watch on TV.

I enjoyed the series I've read so far and saw a rumor somewhere that they were working on a movie of it. Gotta say if that is the case I'm looking forward to it. But now that you have mentioned a TV show I'm thinking that sounds better.
